I'm assuming that they realise they need to re-enable Bluetooth etc
Do you think I should mention it when I go down?.
Yeah I'm doing the app connect upgrade eventually. Just getting the infotaiment sorted do that when I can afford the unlock it's ready to go

No I don't think they do realise they need to re-enable bluetooth that's why I had to pay vw to do it.
If they try to charge you for it (the bluetooth and not labour) then tell them no as vw did mine for an hour's Labour to get it sorted.
they have suggested that i contact VW Retrofit instead. they have quoted £80 to get it removed and have everything set up. so ive booked with them instead.

nah dont think so, from my emails with him hes said if the car didnt come with it then they cant add it on since its a retrofit.
They offer it for the golf 7 so they should be able to do it.

I might ring them to see what they say.

Let me know what you find out. I'm booked in on Thursday

so ive went and got the CP removed and have the same issue as dink. bluetooth stopped working. unable to start message
having to go speak to vw at some point.
guy that removed my CP said that this is a common issue where everything is enabled but for some reason they wipe themselves off.
so for me everything worked, bluetooth, carplay untill i turned the car off and it reset itself. so now i just have radio, aux or usb for music.
he said its hit and miss on each car. he sorted it on a golf r and it worked for nearly 2 years before it s**t itself.
i took mine to vw and they sorted without an issue (well apart from the labour charge )
all features are avaliable until CP is removed then it reverts back all locked down.
i don't know what vw did but if the retrofitters have full access to vw computers they shouldn't have a problem
Just reading the thread, so if the 3q0035842b is fitted it needs a security code activating, to make it work, then coding in aswell as paying the ~£200 for the CarPlay activating?

Thanks in advanced
Yeah that's pretty much it.
The app connect code is what it is whether or not you have the right unit.
For me it was £40 For the unit, £60 For component protection removed then it was £80 For "coding" back to factory options.
