Pave, you have all the information on the first page of this topic. viewtopic.php?f=56&t=68178#p509260

Headlight connectors (like most connectors) have a terminal lock mechanism (pink).

The control unit can be installed wherever you want (but the right place is near the glove compartment), connected to the CAN-lines power train. It can be connected to wires that reach the BCM but it is easier to connect it to another location.

The easiest thing for you is in the CAN lines that you had to isolate in the instrument cluster. T32/28, T32/29.

Yep, trying to read that million times....

I figured out that locking mechanism by accidentally after day or two wondering that connector ... :?

Just installed that control module so that all wires are long enough... don´t know why that harness isn´t made so that module could be installed at oem position... ?!?

I´ve also found that you made place to those can-lines to that wiring from Instrument cluster to bcm at my bcm max installation guide ... there is part "for new mods in the future" :D
You are amazing!!

I routed the power wire to fusebox... I think correct place is terminal 15... so fuses between 9-16 ?!? Am I right ??
I placed that wire at pin 10 because it it only available there...
What size of fuse that afs system needs?

I think everything is almost done now. Just waiting for that bracket for sensor so I can install it.

Thanks ciclo for help again!

But you have to connect the CAN lines of the xenon control module to the old and original CAN lines (ISOLATED) that they belonged to the instrument panel.

Never to the new CAN lines that I sent you for your new BCM.

Obviously I was wrong... maybe it is wiser to forget all those installations...

Re: Retrofitting of Auto leveling headlight system (AFS) for Polo 6R

Post by Eduard »

Hei gents!

I plan on going for xenon installation ( OEM ) with the AFS, Autoleveling and so on. So far I bought the original headlights, and I am thinking of ordering this kit here: https://kufatec.de/shop/en/volkswagen/p ... vw-polo-6r

I also have the Halogen to Xenon conversion cable ( 10 to 14 PIN ) with the additional wiring.

Basically I would like to know if there's anything else I would need to set this up, and, lastly ( but most important ) do you have any idea if I need to change my BCM ?

I will leave an autoscan here, though the BCM HW Number is 6C0 937 089 and in a wiki link at Ross-Tech it says it should support it.. though i'm not sure. ( link here: http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.ph ... tting_(6R) )

Please let me know if my BCM supports xenon lightning or ... does it need to be changed, and, is there anything else that I need to buy before starting the procedure ?

BIG THANKS!

I'm sorry but I don't know anything about the Polo 6C. Keep in mind that you have a 6C that is massively different from a 6R

That is what I was afraid of ... so after all I have a 6C, could have never made a difference because it doesnt look like it ( only the interior does ).

Outside it is exactly the same as Polo 6R ( without the small front skirts / rear bumper ) .. like this and the interior looks as follows: http://carplace.uol.com.br/wp-content/u ... terior.jpg

So I was never able to figure out if it is a 6C or a 6R. Do you, by any chance, know someone i could email for help ? For a price, of course... I would really like to get this done, now that I have purchased everything.

At least simply instaling the new headlights without autoleveling or AFS.

Hm difficult one. Maybe you could try Ross tech forum, if you have genuine vcds.
Otherwise, maybe a crazy idea, why not become an expert yourself. ;)

Some others you can try to contact:

Hehe! Thanks for the reply,

Don't get me wrong :D I am very handy with removing and installing parts, improvising on the fly, the only issue is I suck at is the electric part. I will have to start learning how to read those electric diagrams for that matter

Thanks for the two new forums, will try and do some research in those as well

The one is the German forum but they have a bit of a strange policy for posting. The other is 'my' Dutch forum.

For reading wiring schemes, check these videos from Ross tech:

1)I have few questions regarding full led headlamps
2)Is there any difference between afs and auto level sensor or afs is module and auto level sensor is connected to Afs
3) if auto level sensor and afs is different and these headlights supports only auto levelling do I need only sensor to fit ?
4)my car is equipped with bcm 6RU 937 087M will this bcm support auto levelling sensor ?
Thanks in advanced.

1)
2) the AFS system contains the level sensor on the rear axle, the AFS module and the AFS motors. The motors are integrated in the headlight. You'll also need the wiring.
3) you'll need to fit the entire AFS system.
4) AFS will work with any bcm since it's a separate system. It's operated by the powertrain CAN. But for the LED headlights of the Polo 6C, you need a different bcm. It is the 7E0 937 090 Z4Y. I have the same BCM and it works well.
