These are my ABS Unit's informations:
Part No SW: 6R0 907 379 AF HW: 6R0 907 379 AF
Component: ESP8.2i front H05 0005
Revision: --------
Coding: 210228E3217200BA842914E984D800401700
Shop #: WSC 12345 123 12345
VCID: 82017BAC19148EE

My Polo has 288mm Lucas brake calipers on the front (installed by me) and 232mm Lucas brake calipers on the rear.

I've never had any problem since I used that long-coding.
But who knows... maybe everything it's working, but not exactly as it should... ciclo made me have the doubt now, ahahah.
How can I understand if ABS or ESP it's not working as it should?
With 288mm on the front, 232mm on the rear, coding should be:

210248E3217200BA842912E984D800401700

But since all this is a mystery, everything you do is at your own risk.

As iichel says, test it in a place without traffic.

What icheel said. If you're not getting any errors in your Driver Information System on your speedo and no fault codes, then its probably working. (if you calibrated all sensors without any errors)

Exactly.

Do you have already changed the clutch?

Hi Ciclo,

It's still in the garage. I'm getting it around 4-5pm. I don't know if it was changed before but it's the first time I'm having it done. I was driving it yesterday and I put my foot down and the car wouldn't go. It was on the limit of being changed anyway.

Thank you so much, ciclo!
(Apologize me if I intromitted in this topic: I didn't want to, but my doubt came up later. :) )
I'll try the new long-coding as soon as possible.
What differences should I notice with a coding specific for 288mm front brakes?

I have a friend who upgraded to 312mm front brakes: does he need to modify his long-coding too?
For not bothering you again about this, how can I understand which byte to modify and how, depending on the size of the brakes?

Yes, he also should update his coding.

BUT

ESP8.2 only goes up to 288mm. ESP9.0 goes up to 312mm (Polo WRC, Polo 6R GTI CTHE). So we don't know 312mm coding.

Ok, thank you ilchel.

I and my friend have the feeling that in our cars, after the front brake upgrade, the ABS enters in function a bit too early when braking hardly: we both thought it is caused by the the more breaking power of the calipers we installed, which have a piston with a bigger diameter.
But, instead, could it be because of the fact we both still have a 256mm coding?
Sorry for all of my questions, but I would like to understand as much as possible, so I can explain better to the others who will ask to me the same. :)

Update: I've just tried the new coding ciclo wrote, but it is rejected. :(

Have you tried to enter security access before coding? In this way ---> viewtopic.php?f=56&t=68290&start=15#p510133

The only change from the last coding which was accepted is in Byte15.
UPDATE:

230224E3416E00B7C42624E782D400821300

Coding was accepted. I followed the calibration document and all lights turned off. ABS is FULLY coded into the car now.

Once again Ciclo, YOU DA MAN!!!

I thank Icheel, Ciclo, Jay-Jay and everyone else for their incredible input and hard work into making it work.

Thank You!!!!

Hi Ciclo,

What calculator did you use to work it out?

How did you work it out?

Thanks again!

Great! I'm happy you did it! :)

I would like to know the same thing: is there a calculator for the ABS long-coding?

There seems to be a calculator (I no have), the calculations I did for the coding to ABS unit (6R) from habib_123 are based on data collection from other Polo 6R, and they have no scientific basis Image (as has been seen in this thread).

I can only calculate Bytes that they matching with the VIN. I would like to say how this part is done, but this is not convenient for security reasons and data protection (thinking on respect for others who do not want to publish the VIN). Otherwise, I already would have said.

...therefore Lady luck favored to habib_123. Image (if possible for you, a full autoscan would be perfect to finish)

I think that this thread/topic has been very interesting.
