Well, the EU spec Polos all have the ground point there even though the GTI and WRC only have the battery there.
If you're looking for a ground point in the rear right, you could have a look and see if you have it there.

Owh ok. Understand now. Sure. I will relook again soon. as I have to really take out all the trims soon due to bad roofliner. Image

This is common problem being EU cars in a hot climate. [emoji1328]‍♂️

Anyway, I started testing the inverter unit outside the car. Iichel, is it normal for the inverter to make noise buzzing sound when it’s switch on? (After plug in) ?

Not a lot of buzzing here, just a very little bit (not audible) idle and under load.

Noted thanks. Yes. It’s not loud. In fact it’s audible when my ear next to the inverter. I’m sure once put it back there behind the trim, won’t hear the sound.

new mod - an old touareg central locking button for the rest of passengers inside the car. Maybe its the lazy way instead of having each door handle button like what ciclo and iichel did. but thanks to them, i got this idea.

Do you have a clearer image of that central locking switch?

the only drawback from this button model, there’s no status lock indicator like the one we have in polo. but because of the design that fit my intended position i choose the button. maybe later i will wire separate led for the lock indicator.

I’m working on the mounting now. so better photos coming soon.

haha. but the problem is now, more works to be done. i need a dude with more skilled than just 3dprint to solve this:

maybe a small disclaimer for the above mod
1) the button will eat the end space inside the armrest compartment.
2) with the width dimension, no way i can install the button there because the original hinge of the armrest cover is big. Mine was broken long time ago; so i made a smaller narrower hinge to the armrest (to save the 3dprint material and printing time).
3) as the armrest can rotate, the wiring for the button need to go through from the side into the centre of rotation. bit tricky and preferably with coupling to allow dismantling the armrest easier.

finally i got the rvc + module and able to utilise the gift from ciclo!

Image

Backup camera module: 3AE 907 441
RVC emblem 35D 827 469B

Image

Unfortunately i still didnt manage to calibrate the camera with “marking not recognise” error.

I’m still googling around the right way of doing the calibration.

Under the PDC, if i set the visual parking activation to reverse camera, it will show nothing on my rcd510. but on automatic or PDC mode, i will get the PDC image as before with the rvc button to manually change the view to reverse camera.

Image

I’m not sure I’m doing the right coding or not. appreciate help with anybody experiences in this retrofit. thank you.

I've been to a few VW dealers and they all recommend to put the car very near to the car.
In the PDC module, you should be able to enter the login code and then see what it says at the adaptation channel for reverse.
Mine is set to camera.
But the good news is, at least you're getting some images from the camera :)

Code: Select all

Address 10: Park/Steer Assist (J446) Labels:| 7E0-919-475.clb
   Part No SW: 7E0 919 475 L HW: 7N0 919 475
   Component: PARKHILFE 8K H06 0106
   Revision: -------- Serial number: 28231422402620
   Coding: 318001
   Shop #: WSC 12345 123 12345
   ASAM Dataset: EV_VW75XParkAssis8K 001003
   ROD: EV_EPHVA18VW250GPCS_VW25.rod
   VCID: 3B23CAAD43E7451F645-806E

No fault code found.
This is my PDC coding.
RNS coded to reverse camera low OFF (since this is reversing camera high)

Yes. i got the image! at least that made my day after struggling with the wiring from the boot into the main cabin[emoji23]. again, thanks to your documentation and ciclo’s sharing, i made it!

on the calibration board, it is logic to place the calibration board near to the car as the camera will have a better recognition but from what i read, it needs to be 1.2m up to 1.7m from the rear wheel centre. or thats just unnecessary?

edited: the challenge is now that i have rcd510 with camera input instead of rns510 and parkhilfe 4K instead of 8k[emoji23]
