Puff ... , ...
- The TPMS 7P6 unit software needs to be modified/flashed to 3AA.
- The SW of those TPMS sensors will need to be adapted.

First install and check maybe they would have flashed the software

Okay. Just plug in the module and power up the gateway and update the installation list

oh yes ... from now on I will give the 3AA sw so that nobody does business with it.
Some things to explain here (not related to this thread) ... but I prefer not to do it.
As you all know, I have always shared the information or my personal help free of charge.

Ciclo, funny world we re living. sometimes maybe we just have to accept, some ppl see opportunities while some see free stuffs are better. I have to agree though, for some ppl, we must put a price tag for them so they appreciate more. [emoji12] but one thing for sure, getting free information on one hand and charging them on the other hand mostly unacceptable.ciclo wrote: ...

Hi benzinkopf!
I've seen you did many km with your Polo.
How is the timing chain?
Does it rattle at cold start-ups?
Have you ever replaced it?

Hi. Yes. The timing chain! I havent change that.Jay-Jay wrote:Hi benzinkopf!

Yes at cold start everybody complaining the same and most workshops here easily recommend that the issue is chain getting longer. Personally i doubt that since i believe there should be specific error on chain elongation. But i continue driving because i found the trick: Ignition On till your BT get connected (20sec +), and then only you start the engine.
Then i found out my crankshaft breather valve broken (quite common on 1.2tsi) and after i repaired that part properly, (assuming the vacuum is good) seems like the rattling issue improving a lot. So I like to think that apart from the chain getting longer, the vacuum status inside the engine head should be good so the engine can pull up the oil faster avoiding the rattling. well at least thats my guess. [emoji1787]
I think im going to change it by 300k km

Re: Benzinkopf's 2012 VW POLO 6R MK5 1.2TSI 105HP DSG
Thank you for your answer.
I honestly can't see any colleration between oil pressure and head breathing system, but it could be that my knowledge is not that good about it.
From what I understood, the main reason for the timing chain rattle is that the hydraulic chain tensioner's piston wears with the milleage and inside starts to loose oil after a long stop. So, when at cold start-up it needs more time to be filled with oil and put the chain in tension. This little moment of chain being loosen at start up causes the chain to stretch.
When it gets too much elongated and the tensioner is not more able to compensate the elongation, the rattle will be audible not only at startup but also at idle and under hard working conditions (accelerations at low revs with high gears, etc.).
In any case, it's good to see that, despite the start-up rattles, your chain has reached that amount of mileage.
Do you usually drive in the city traffic?

Re: Benzinkopf's 2012 VW POLO 6R MK5 1.2TSI 105HP DSG
Haha. As said I’m guessing based on my experiences repairing the crankshaft breather valve. But, I agree with your explanations. so apart from chain elongation, it is the oil pressure loss issue which cause the rattling at startups. Is that normal? I’ve read before that below the Oil Filter there should be no return valve acting on this but during long stop, this valve open to let the oil flow down back. i’m not sure.
Btw. for my mileage, I’m doing in average 100km a day for the past 7 years. I guess I always involved in 1-2hrs drives with 30% city and 70% highway.

Oh. about the wearing tensioner piston, the best part of all, i believe i got the rattling cold startup since the early days of ownership. Its either the design flaw or mine just gave way too fast. but it has been consistent since.
