Benzinkopf, I just had a brainfart. And a long story.

Here in Europe, winter is coming fast. Brace yourself.
There is a big interest in the CH/LH and auto light wirings in the Netherlands and Switzerland. But many people don't have the RLS.
The best and nicest option is definitely changing the windscreen to accommodate the sensor and the automatic dimming interior mirror.

Some people with an early 2010 Polo 6R and climatronic are lucky, since it has the humidity sensor built in.
Many others with the normal mirror are not so lucky.

However it is possible to buy the bracket separately to hold the sensor.
Could a 3D printer make a nice cover? Then one can glue the RLS onto the windscreen, i.e.behind the mirror, and cover it with a custom cover for the backside of the RLS and the wiring.

Interestingly. Actually i cant find the right parts for my RLS wiring cover because I bought the rear view mirror + the 2 piece cover for the mirror hinge and RLS. so I made the simple part to cover the wiring to the roof.

It’s definitely possible with 3Dprinting. But there’s always quite postprocessing job to make it looks good from outside because the layer printing will not straight away give you the smooth surface. lots of sanding and touchups needed. Thats why i prefer using the printed parts for something behind the eyes, such brackets etc.

But again. its not impossible. If the size of parts that you have in mind is not that big. of course its do-able. with 3Dprinting hub all over the world now, its a matter of making the data and distribute or send for printing online and ship to the ones who wants it.

I managed to install the bixenon headlights with a lot of stupid stuffs happened but end up its all alright except for AFS installation which can’t be done yet as I missed the need of special brake line bracket 6R0612405.

a) Wiring bought in EU is made for LHD model. So after first installation, my parking light led, cornering light all in opposite way. I have to switch back the wiring at bcm🤣

b) I really thought the bixenon headlights use the same signal bulbs as H7 model. Apparently not! So I have to go and find the specific turn signal PSY24W after ive done the installation.

c) I took the old H7 bulb from my old headlights for the cornering light function. I’m not sure if its the bulb performance really that bad or the cornering lights distribution is not as expected?

d) As I already installed bcm max and auto lights system from Ciclo, I had to take out the foglight wire pin 3 from ciclo’s red coupling for a direct fused installation SB54. Unfortunately, i took out the wrong wire (pin 2) and i almost fried the headlight switch. After that happen, the light switch seems to be dead and i dont have any lights. After dismantling the switch apart, and managed to clean all the sparked area etc, it all goes back to normal. lucky me. [emoji23]

Heres the latest Autoscan for BCM

But just a question, since now my fog lights is directly control via the switch (not bcm) is that means i will no longer have the coding for fog light functionalities? e.g. the foglight on while reverse?

Once you have tested (multiple times) that my wiring looms for your BCM max, Light Assist and Automatic Lights are made for bomb tests ... OMG!!!...
... the fog lights ON while reverse never was possible in Polo 6R.

However, Static cornering lights ON while reverse are in different places, in fog lamp or Bixenon headlight in additional lamp.

A lamp can perform several functions depending on how it is managed.
Typical example: parking lights and side lights through the same bulb.

Coding: 06302D

New coding 07302D

As for the AFS module it is strange that you can't change the value of Byte0, have you tried to do it with engine OFF?

Okeh. I’m out of the idea how to solve the Byte 0 code in AFS module. With or Without Engine On, the code still rejected when i tried changing from 03(Notsure) to 01(Polo) in Byte0.

anybody knows what car is that under 03?

In term of wiring, i think it shud be all correct and i didnt have any error. CAN wires taken from isolated CAN wires from IC as I installed BCM Max with Ciclo’s wiring.

I’ve reset VCDS config file to resetup the WSC and Importer codes. all without luck changing just the Byte 0.

Appreciate any further testing or help. thank you.

Oh btw. I already dismantled the sensor and adjust the leveling “manually” and it is all working from the sensor point of view.

Update: The seller of the afs unit just confirmed back that its not from polo 6R. Its from a Beetle. Hence the 03 code. So yeah. probably the parameters inside fixed for beetle. need to flash the software.

Yes, seems it's from a VW Beetle.

Based on simple search, the wheel based difference between the new beetle and polo is around 67mm. considering the system is reading with such parameters, the height adjustment calculation will be 2.8% off. so to speak for 1 degree aiming, it will go 1.03 degree or 0.97 degree instead. [emoji848]

maybe i can adjust the offset value in the adaptation for now.
