Re: Benzinkopf's 2012 VW POLO 6R MK5 1.2TSI 105HP DSG
I'm pretty sure the driving conditions have a big influence on the life of the chain.
The fact that you drive 70% on highway doesn't stress much the timing components.
At this point, considering your experience, we can say that a little rattle at start-up can be considered normal for this engine.
Anyway, thank you for sharing your experience!

Some things to explain here (not related to this thread) ... but I prefer not to do it.

1. As i already installed the TPMS module without the sensors, after hour drive, the system shut off, and i lost the menu. VCDS scan shows its missing signal(obviously). So is it okay for me to continue powering up till i installed the sensors?
2. is there anything i should be worry with the existing indirect tpms? Should i turn it off (change the coding in ABS module?)
3. For the parameter setting, using RDKeditor, I should put in list of my preferred size tyres? How do i know whats the “best” pressures let says for 205/45R17? or 215/45R17? Haha. sounds like a stupid question, but i think thats my question. lol.
4. Any difference in Comfort and Standard Adaptation Settings?

1 Yes, no problem.
2 No, do not touch it.
3 There are many tire pressure tables online. The best tire pressures depend on the type of driving (personal taste), and type of asphalt/road. I personally like that the pressures are high for a uniform wear. I have 2.5 bar on all four wheels that with the variations in temperatures on the wheels move between 2.4 and 2.8 bars (I love it to check it).
Make a list with the size of tires that will be installed in your car.
4 They only are references for the driver to remember or adapt the pressures according to need or personal taste. In our Direct TPMS only standard or full is possible.

Thank you. will have a look again. I think the area near my PDC module is already tight with my 230V inverter back there. [emoji23] So i might need another place.

So the data file of tire pressures were transferred with ODIS, is it correct?benzinkopf wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2019 12:23 pm thank you Ciclo. I will try the RDKeditor soon and visit my friend with OdisE to flash. Hope i can create special test menu as well. [emoji1362]

Have you made an autoscan to check if there is a new fault related to the IC?

Yes. I do see the error in 17 module. seems like the same errors i got with blindspot. Something like unsupported generation of vcds. maybe thats the limitation with hex-can now which i believe its time to upgrade to hex Net to continue support RossTech. But the fault can be erased.
i will rescan and post the new scan.

Ok, waiting for the autoscan ... pleaaaase do not clear the DTCs ... thanks!!!
---
Let me explain: what I want to say is that you do not click on Clear all DTCs to erase the sporadic faults.

So nothing should worry me right? [emoji23] the same way i dont worry with my Lane Change error. Keep telling missing calibration. but the system works fine. I checked the dynamic calibration is still running but the dynamic calibration km-driven counter already stop at 15000km. I really think there’s limitation being put in place for old gen VCDS cable. Hence I cant see the exact error and calibrate the thing.ciclo wrote:Many thanks. [emoji108][emoji1666]

btw. so as it happened, one morning, i started the car with “Check tire pressures” warning on which was due to cold air pressure lower the specified bar. It was 1.9 bar if not mistaken and my specified value is 2.2 bar. Then I went straight to pump the tires to 2.2 bar accordingly and all tires showed exactly 2.2 as well. But seems like the “image” still showed shaded tires instead of full white tire.
How exactly we should reset that?
