Excellent Job! Very grateful for this good report/video. Thanks!

Static cornering lights with reverse gear. 8)

Maybe I would have put the mirror upside down, though I have seen it in the two possible ways (from factory).

Thanks a lot, Ciclo :D

The original mirror in my car (the manual dimming one) had the broad side down and narrow side up. So, I followed the same. Now that you mentioned it, I remember I saw the mirror in a friend's GT (the latest one that comes with the same RLS and mirror) in a reverse direction with the broad side up and narrow side down.

Yes. The static cornering lights on reverse are cool indeed. But I have a doubt how these cornering lights help while reversing.

When reverse gear is engaged, the cornering lights on both sides of the vehicle switch on, in order to better illuminate the area for parking.

For example, pillars, walls, to know where the lines of your parking space are... because all the parking areas do not have the lights ON permanently (to save energy).

Hello graaja,

Awesome GT you have got there. Have been following your thread, both, here and on Team-BHP.

I will be greatful, if you can help me with the sourcing the mount and the mirror covers. Any website where you procured them? :)

I have already procured the sensor and auto dimming mirror.

Like your GT, mine is also a November 2015 Polo GT.

Best,
Shishir

Hi Shishir,

Thank you for the kind words.

Apologies for the delay in response. As I was on travel, could not check the thread.

I did not get the mount separately. I had changed the whole windshield with the one that comes in the latest generation Polo. This has the mount for the sensor.

Also, I got the sensor, mirror and covers as a complete set. Firegrafik helped me with the sourcing. I don't know where you can get only the mirror cover.

Hi, Thank you for the kind words. The headlights have two screws that can be used to adjust the up/down and right/left movement. You can set the level of the headlights by using the screws that control the up/down movement.

Hi graaja & ciclo,

Excellent Thread. Went through your full post. I am also planning to get Bi-Xenons For my 2017 Polo Gt TSI from India. Howeve i had a few doubts. My Car came with 6RU 937 097 R BCM with RLS,Cruise Control, auto wipers, Cornering Lights etc. Will the Bi-Xenons with LED DRL fit directly to my model or do I have to change the BCM? Also if i change my headlight switch with auto headlight will it be just plug and play?Sorry for not providing any VCDS data as I don't have the cable yet.

Regards
