CNK, the dash pod on the right hand side looks like 6C, if it is, how easy is it to remove the part that is the silver rings, while the dash pod is still fitted to the car?
The reason that I am asking is, during cold weather, these silver rings seem to be touching and moving against the padded dash surround - and it makes a very annoying creaking noise, if I can just remove these rings as an assembly, I might apply a small amount of silicon grease to stop that happening, or apply polish to the padded dash surround.
I've noticed that the plastic clear cover, at least on the 6C is very soft and does mark very easily, I noticed a mark on the dash of my wife's car when it was just delivered, so I warned her not to try to remove that mark as it would only look worse.

Hey! Yes, instrument cluster on the right hand side is from 6C:
are the 6R and 6C instrument cluster of same dimensions?
is it possible to put 6R cluster inside 6C cluster case? ie to get elevated and chrome rounds around speedometer and rpm gauge.
i know 6C has 18 pin and 6R has 32 pin. so only disassemble and change case.

dimensions are the same, but these are quite different clusters, they are not compatible.
I have gotten the cluster out of the car, but I am stuck on trying to get the front covers off of the cluster. It looks as if the buttons are stopping the covers coming off. There is no mention of the buttons in this post, but I see they are removed.
I can take the front covers off of the mechanisms on the cluster but I want to take the front covers apart from each other like in the photos.
Can someone please explain exactly how to get the front covers off to take the cluster apart?
