What exactly was the issue that VCDS reported wrt this sensor? It might just be that the system has a leak and is now very short of gas, or it might be that the leak is through the body of this sensor, does it look a bit oily and dirty - if so that is a clue to the fact that it is leaking.
One thing to remember, while ebay etc sell lots of NOS of the previous versions of this switch, typically only VW/SEAT/Skoda/Audi will be selling the latest version as these sensors have been revised quite a few times due to problems with them!
I bought one via Lister SEAT online at a very good price due to them being sponsors on the SEAT forum.
If you do need to replace this sensor, just remove it quickly and fit the new one quickly as there is a self sealing valve below this sensor and there will be an initial "hissing" of gas when you start to remove it.
