Hello, I am John from Greece, my English is not so good..

It's an 1,2 tdi bluemotion comfortline

From factory

China rubber pads

In the future I will change
R20 front bumper
GTI rear bumper
OEM front and rear Pdc
OEM rear golf camera

Hi Rocco-85, welcome. Nice 6R. 8)
I subscribe to your topic.
With 088 BCM you can also install automatic lights, once you install the RLS ...

For users who open topics like this they will always have my support. :wink:

Yes, for all 6R it is necessary to have installed a 2015 BCM onwards, High or Max.

In your 6R Bluemotion it is only possible by installing a BCM Max. 7H0937090D (7L6) --->, or 7E0937090 --->

The BCM Max installation on your 6R Bluemotion is a bit more complex than on the rest because your 6R has an external Gateway and it needs to be removed forever, ... by transferring the CAN lines and LINs from the External Gateway to the new BCM Max with internal Gateway.
All this is necessary because of how your new BCM Max (with internal Gateway) communicates with the instrument cluster.

I know how to do this process in your 6R, but iichel can guide you better in this regard because he did it in his 6R Bluemotion, similar to your 6R.

ok, it will be not to difficult for me to do that, Iam a mechanic with my own workshop. So I will search the new bcm, will I need anything more?
Which bcm will be better 7e0 or 7h0, or it's the same, I saw it's from t5 - t6 - a5..

Removing the external gateway is not very difficult, you just need to connect the CAN networks to the new BCM (powertrain, comfort, instrument cluster) and don't forget the LIN to the generator :-) I can aid for sure, no problem.

7E0 has a bit more functions like high beam assist, ACC, TPMS high (B or higher) and a newer software for i.e. MFS.

Ok then I will buy a 7E0937090 if it's newer and more options
But I looked at both bcm and the 7e0 has less pins then the 7h0

The tasks of additional pins for the 7H0 BCMs are either fulfilled by the software or are unnecessary in the 7E0 BCMs.

The latest models of BCM Max used in the 6R. PQ25 platform.

So first let's talk about the new BCM.

T73a = BCM black connector
T73b = BCM white connector
T32 = instrument cluster connector
T6aa = dimmer connector
T20 = connector of CAN gateway
T16 = OBD connector

Step 0: preparations.
Make a full autoscan
Save adaptation channel values of BCM 09, CAN gateway 19, 61 battery regulator.
Remove negative terminal of battery.

Step 1:
remove old CAN gateway, it's on the A pillar on the passenger side, behind the glove box.
Throw it away. Burn it. Never use it again :-)

Step 2:
Remove instrument cluster.
Remove T32/28 and T32/29 (orange/brown and orange/black) and isolate them.
Run two new wires (twisted) for CAN instrument cluster.
The 1st wire goes from T73b/54 to T32/28 and the second from T73b/57 to T32/29
This is the new CAN instrument cluster network (also for HBA retrofit).
Place back instrument cluster.

Step 3:
Remove the T20/12 LIN wire (pink/violet) from the red gateway connector.
Extend the wire and and run it to T73b/37.
This is a new LIN network for the generator and battery monitoring unit.

Step 4:
Remove the OBD connector from its holder and remove and isolate T16/6 and T16/14 (orange/black and orange brown)
Run a new twisted pair of wires. One goes from T73b/22 to T16/14 and the other goes from T73b/23 to T16/6.
This is your new CAN Diagnostics network.

Step 5:
Remove steering wheel and indicator stalk unit.
Remove the T41/3 (orange/black), make a Y connection and make a connection of the wire to T41/3 and T73b/19.
Remove the T41/2 (orange/brown), make a Y connection and make a connection of the wire and make a connection to T41/2 and T73b/18.
This is the new CAN powertrain network.
Place back the stalks and the steering wheel.

The CAN infotainment system wiring is already present.

Step 6:
Remove light switch and dimmer
Remove T6aa/3, and isolate the wire.
Make a new wire from T73b/4 to T6aa/3 (dimmer connector).
Place back the dimmer and the light switch.

Now you can plug in the new BCM, connect battery and paste the coding of the old BCM into the 09 BCM module.
Paste back the coding of the old battery regulator into the new
Paste the coding of 002200 (4 doors) or 002000 (2 doors) into the can gateway.
Place the adaptations of each old module back into the new (BCM, gateway, battery monitor).
Learn remote controls: http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.ph ... Adaptation
It might be necessary to adapt some coding for all the functions to work, i.e. for the button backlighting.

When making crimps, always make sure the wire is crimped correctly. All the wires, except T73a/4 to T6aa/3, are the type of micro quadlock system.
Make sure the wire is not sticking out of the crimp and no thin wires are sticking out to avoid short circuits. CAN wires are minimum 0.35mm2 of cross section.

For automatic lights and CH/LH, you need a RLS (1k0 or 5k7), automatic lights wiring and auto light switch.
Your current and future 7E0/7H0 BCM will support it.

T73a = BCM black connector
T73b = BCM white connector
T32 = instrument cluster connector
T6aa = dimmer connector
T20 = connector of CAN gateway
T16 = OBD connector

Step 0: preparations.
Make a full autoscan
Save adaptation channel values of BCM 09, CAN gateway 19, 61 battery regulator.
Remove negative terminal of battery.
..
Nice job!
Is it right also for VW Polo not Bluemotion? (without Step 1)

Polo non Bluemotion, with 7h0 937 089/090 bcm or 6r0 937 085/086/087 bcm?

7h0 to 7e0 is very easy. Sometimes a few wires, sometimes no wires needed.
6r0 bcm high to 7e0 bcm max requires a lot of adaptation in the wiring to bcm max. Ciclo is the expert for this and many people did the switch with his help.

Iichel I am now at step 6
You told me
Make a new wire from T73a/4 to T6aa/3 (dimmer connector).
But at the black connector t73a/4 are already a brown wire. What will I do, remove and isolate?
