Polo 6R 1600 TDI Team
Hi all!
After lurking for some months I decided to finally make an account here. I’ve been active for about a month on MyPolo forums over in the Netherlands. I used to drive a 9N3 Comfortline but I sold that. Now I drive a 2010 66kw 1600 TDI Polo 6R Team Comfortline.
Things I have done so far:
Interior:
Black headliner
Leather door interiors
Leather arm rest
Leather shifter knob
GTI handbrake
Leather / Alcantara seats
Black glossy trim in interior
RCD510 instead of RCD310
MDI and Bluetooth controle module with microphone
Skoda Fabia instrument cluster
Audi A1 footrest
VW sport pedals
Glove box that wasn’t damaged
Led interior lights
Mfa retrofit
Mfsw retrofit (currently not working on the right side)
6C central locking button
Chrome window switch and mirror adjustment knob
Sunglasses storage in headliner
Exterior:
Painted lower grilles black
6C R-Line grille
6C GTI taillights
Osram Cool Blue Intense
H&R 35/55mm springs
Black shark fin dummy (OEM)
Black cap for cooling fluid
Black brake fluid cap
R8 oil cap
Things I want to do:
R-Line bumper kit
17 inch rims
Merge Skoda cluster with one from a Toledo (I don’t like Skodas font)
Toledo gas struts for the boot
Gas struts for the hood
PDC front
Coming Home/Leaving Home
TPMS
.... might do OEM Xenon or 6C LED .... so...
SWRA
LWR
etc...
But my main priority is to get the mfsw to work on the right side. I have no clue on how to get it to work, the buttons aren’t illuminated either.
I even tried a BCM swap from a T6, 7E0937090Z9A, but I couldn’t get it to work because I’m an idiot . Made the wires because I have an external CAN gateway, and could access it in VCDS, but it gave errors because it couldn’t reach the IC. I stopped at this point. If anyone knows how I can either get the BCM to work or the right side of the steering wheel, I am forever greatfull.
Anyways, here are some photos
(Photo with old cluster, now I have this one:)
Shoutout to @ciclo and @iichel for being so active and my main source of inspiration!

Re: Polo 6R 1600 TDI Team
Sunglasses storage in the head lining, is that the old Golf version that replaces a grab handle? If not which type is it? Also, has anyone checked out the interior lights cluster on the latest Polo to see if it sunglasses storage - built into the interior lights cluster, will fit a 6R and 6C Polo?

I think it goes in the roof handle:

Imagine you do this for your new 7E0 BCM.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2nv91 ... sp=sharing
What would happen?
Try it.
Apart, you have to carry some CAN lines that arrive at your old Gateway to the new 7E0 BCM (with internal gateway), also the LIN.
Something like this:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2nv91 ... 8zdGc/view
This is the idea, but you should visually check and point to the exact numbering of the wires on both connectors (white BCM, red Gateway) with pen and paper.
Therefore, first install the CAN lines for IC, and check which CAN lines reach your white BCM connector (powertrain, comfort, diagnosis), then it's as simple as running the missing lines on your BCM white connector from the red connector on your old Gateway to the BCM white connector (including the LIN).
From the red connector of the old Gateway it is only necessary that you take out the required lines/wires, the rest of wires you have to leave installed in this connector, this way they will be perfectly isolated. Remove the Old Gateway forever and install the new 7E0 BCM.
Once completed, it will be necessary to correctly code the Gateway and BCM.
This will not be a problem if you post an autoscan.

We've been tryiing a little on the Dutch MyPolo forum but without succes. I agree with ciclo that it should not be very difficult but it's a delicate job.

Yes that one works okay, I have fitted that to my wife's Polo - and her previous Polo 9N back in 2003, I was more interested in finding out if the sunglasses storage unit from the centre roof mounted console in the next Polo will fit the 6C Polo.

Re: Polo 6R 1600 TDI Team
Thanks for all the replies!
I think I seem to know what went wrong, I used pin 47 instead of 57 on the B connector on the BCM, so that's probably why my IC didn't get recognized. Pin 47 is for CC, which I pinned out, and when it didn't was successfull I put the old BCM back and didn't have CC. So I put that one back.
These are the other cables that I connected, which seemed to work because I could acces the new BCM in VCDS.
T73b/18 -> powertrain low T20/pin 6
T73b/19 -> powertrain high T20/pin 16
T73b/22 -> diagnostics low T20/pin 9
T73b/23 -> diagnostics high T20/pin 19
T73b/37 -> LIN T20/12
I do have a few questions. I seem to have disabled the factory mode on the BCM, yes shame one me, but does it matter? Will I still be able to program my transponder keys?
What kind of crimping pliers do you use? I had a Knipex MQS crimping tool, but I sent that back because I coulnd't justify the price of 240 euro's.
I currently use VCDS 12.12 clone cable, yes shame again. Will I need a genuine RossTech cable to fully program my new BCM?

The autoscan that you have post is perfect, now we need another one with 7E0 BCM installed. (when possible, no hurry... )Turbodruk wrote: ↑Thu Oct 26, 2017 11:20 pm Thanks for all the replies!

Those who never do anything never make mistakes.
These are the other cables that I connected, which seemed to work because I could acces the new BCM in VCDS.
T73b/18 -> powertrain low T20/pin 6 OK...
T73b/19 -> powertrain high T20/pin 16 OK...
T73b/22 -> diagnostics low T20/pin 9 OK
T73b/23 -> diagnostics high T20/pin 19 OK
T73b/37 -> LIN T20/12 OK
I do have a few questions. I seem to have disabled the factory mode on the BCM, yes shame one me, but does it matter? No. Will I still be able to program my transponder keys? Yes, no problem at all.
What kind of crimping pliers do you use? I had a Knipex MQS crimping tool, but I sent that back because I coulnd't justify the price of 240 euro's.
Japanese and Chinese crimping tools. Certain skills and experience are needed for the chinese tools...
For example
http://www.engineer.jp/en/products/pa09e.html (eBay)
I currently use VCDS 12.12 clone cable, yes shame again. Will I need a genuine RossTech cable to fully program my new BCM? Yes, it is especially recommended for these installations (DIY).

Do I need to remind you it was you who stated pin 47 over at MyPolo?
All jokes aside, I’m looking forward to this project, and I am sure I will succeed (with a little help)
Thanks ciclo for your reply, I will buy a RossTech cable and Japanese/Chinese pliers.
Cheers!

Re: Polo 6R 1600 TDI Team
Hello !
I've managed to get the BCM to work, evreything works, except for two things.
Central locking doesn't work, I have to program the keys. Whatever I try within Adress 09 -> Adaptation -> Channel 1, doesn't seem to work.
Also, the right side of my steering wheel doesn't work, it's not lit up and it won't respond to any input.
Here's an autoscan and a bonus pic which I've done earlier this week. I merged the plates and needles from a Toledo cluster with my Fabia cluster. Way better font, and red needles (they look a little pink here)

Re: Polo 6R 1600 TDI Team
I am so sorry, I managed to program the keys with no hiccups. I was conviced I needed to put the number of the amount of keys I wanted to program, not 0.
I was also thinking, I first retrofitted the MFA with the buttons on the stalk, before I fitted the MFSW. Would it matter that I remove the stalks and place the original stalks back?
I ran a second autoscan with the keys programmed but no new errors occured.
Thank you Master Ciclo!
