New IC mod - Low beam indication

Image

It’s not a difficult mod, especially if you are familiar with soldering. :)

Image

It’s necessary to solder one green Led [3528]

Image
  • 1
“zero resistor” or just bridge this two points
  • 2
Two resistors. [1206] with resistance around 500 Ohm. Resistance depending of your taste :) if you want bright indication use lower resistance and vice versa if you want more dimmed indication - use higher resistance.
  • 3
Transistor.

All those elements I took from 6C mainboard.

Image

We need to change Byte in the EEPROM: 02D3 to C6

And one more condition, to make this indication work there should be a wire from light switch to BCM (T73B-52)(low beam)
If you have Auto light switch, it’s already there!

Now every time when auto light turn on low beam I see indication on a dashboard! 8)

Recently I found two Polo MFA+ clusters and having studied them in details and I came to the conclusion that they are absolutely identical with 6JA cluster, except for a couple of small SMD components (capacitors and resistors)

Image

It means that this indication can be implemented on Polo IC as well.
But it will be necessary to do something with tachometer dial (change :?: ), the dipped beam icon is missing...

nice. i think its good to have the indicator with auto lights.

Sometimes lights goes on but you don’t know it’s on or not because it’s not dark enough yet...
So at least for me this mod is useful! :)

It’s possible to turn on “Front fog lamp indicator” as well, all the components already on the mainboard from stock!
Only need to find correct Byte in the EEPROM

Agree with you. but right now, my indicator is the small click from relay 🤣

btw. when u said the components are ready, is that means the led and resistors are all there for the headlight and front foglight?

but anyway, im not sure how to mod the dial face to get the indicator logo. not easy unless find new face that match the led location.

For front fog lights all components are there, need only activation in EEPROM I think.

For Low beam indication- it’s necessary to solder!

I have seen somewhere on Drive2 that it’s possible to order custom dials(with icons and design you want).

Excellent job! Very clear and interesting, thanks. 8)

What software do you currently have in your IC?

Ok... what's the main reason why you want higher software?
When possible to me (1 or 2 weeks) and if you want, I get in touch with you by email to share some files and talk about it.

Meanwhile:

Maybe you can find something of what you are looking for.
Even if it is not exactly what you are looking for ... will help you, I guess.

For others, I will not answer anything related to the link. Ask there.

Main reasson to update software is RDKS support :)

is this what I'm thinking about? I will wait for it with impatience! :D

Thanks for the link! I know this forum, already was there :)
I've found and sucessfully updated some blocks!

but no luck with IC firmware..

Is it a riddle :?: :D

Have you already installed the TPMS unit (3AA......F)?

In the meantime:
What would happen if you tests with this software?
Image
Search inside your folders.

Try it and please tell us the results.
I did not have time to try it (on my old BlueGT IC) because of my tight schedule of these dates.

FYI: this software is the predecessor of my new GTI instrument cluster.

(607/608/609... in the middle WRC IC SW 705/709 ... then 805 and more)
Image
http://nazya.com/product/datchik-german ... 70628.html ... etc ...

step by step... I think we have to know what the limits of each software are.

I'm not referring to you specifically, my dear friend. It's generally for those who do not have the necessary tools and knowledge to handle these software/s with ease.
Even the great masters of the universe    need a test bench to know if everything will work correctly.

Madwarlock has or will have what it takes. 6R, IC MFA, etc ...and willing to do it... his results are the important thing...

TPMS is only in the project...
Before i begin with realization I want to be sure that my IC supports It

Yes, I saw this firmware but did not give it much importance since the increase from 607  609 is not significant.

But i can try this firmware on 870C IC wich i currently have on my table!
What tests should I perform on this IC after update?

Hi Madwarlock, have you already got a higher software for your IC?
---
Why the delay in contacting you?
Because I have made some mistakes with my old BlueGT IC ... now it's totally died  ... after to try to update it with a new software.

It does not turn on or do anything when turning the key on the ignition switch.

Hi Ciclo,
Haven't tested it yet. Probably will do it after New Year :D

That's a bad news!
May i ask how is this happened?
You tried to flash with higher FW or lower FW (downgrade)? Process was interrupted?

BTW, my collega bought Jetta with CBZB engine and activated GRA High. :) so i ordered Kess as well :!:
