NAVI Unit upgrade ?

Hello again gents!

I'm wondering if I can upgrade my current "NAVI" with something that actually has Navigation on it, maybe also DAB and Carplay support but .. I'm a bit confused by the following:

Ideally, I would like to get something that is just an OEM replacement of the current unit ( fits right in ) that would support the following:
-- Reverse Camera ( RVC )
-- Park Assist or w/e it's called ( PDC ) -- sensors
-- DAB and CarPlay would be great, not a must though

So while I found out about RNS510 as being something that would work ... I know for sure it doesn't fit. The only thing which seems to fit ( just from looking at it, is the one Golf 7 has here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8lx1zwG6-Qc )

The thing getting me confused is that they seem to have that CD Storage ( the actual brain ) inside the glove box. So I've checked with some guy that has a 6R GTI and while he has Navigation, it does not have any additional unit in the glove box.

Maybe someone could clear that out for me .. what should I buy in order to get navigation ( and support for RVC / PDC ) that would fit directly in the slot I currently have ...

But, I have no idea wether this is correct, nor I can see any PN, but it makes sense to be "that big" since I have a lot of space myself where the navi should be.

so you need to distinguish between two things here:
MQB systems
PQ systems.

Polo 6R is PQ family car, so it will take the RNS, RCD units. Also the discover media from Transporter T6, Beetle will fit.
These have reversing camera via 26 pin connector. sRGB signal (4 wires)
Exchanging will be protected with 4-digit PIN code.

Polo 6C is a MQB family car, this has the units like the Golf 7. These have the brains behind the glove box.
These have reverse camera via quadlock and composite signal (2 wires)
Exchanging will be protected with component protection, it needs to be done via the VW dealer.

PDC signal will be transferred via the CAN network. These are not compatible between MQB and PQ cars.

So you must remember that these things are not exchangeable. PQ units will not work in MQB cars and the other way around is also not possible.
Your car is the MQB version so you need to look at Discover Media, Composition Media, Composition Color etc.

I am honestly so confused with this car haha, PQ parts here, MQB-ish BCM there, this is like Windows Vista between XP and 7..

So I understand it needs to be swapped via a dealership only, fair enough ( i’ll stick to mine then haha ).

From what you’re saying it seems that I cannot install it ?
I’d just be grateful with the parking sensors for my girlfriend haha. It is a MUST

Your car is Polo 6C, so MQB
The sensor kit is from Golf 7, also MQB. MQB PDC in MQB car, no problem.

Reading your initial post again, makes me question myself again, so, can I change my unit with an MQB unit myself or does it have to be done ONLY by an VW dealership.

Say, I want to buy a Discovery Media Pro or something like that that has Navigation and etc, can I just swap them or do I need a dealership to take care of it ?

i'm not sure. you probably need a new CAN gateway because your current one doesn't have the right software.
probably you'll need a quadlock adapter as well and i'm not sure whether these units have some kind of component protection.
