If supply 12v to tpms receiver via +15 (supply through ignition will it work?? Or the tpms requires supply from +30 ( directly from battery)

hi hmthakur :)
I have Polo GT TSI(2015 MY). I am planning to change the stock cluster from my car to the GTI maxi dot cluster and I noticed you have upgraded MFD on your car which has the same part # 6RD920870A as what seller here in Bangalore has shown me. Upon searching further I see that this particuler cluster was installed in cars sold in China. I am just being little cautious here before investing to make sure that I am paying for the right product and wanted to know from you, since you have it installed. I believe it''s matter of upgrading to the right software but seeking little more clarification here. Moreover, I am little confused to understand the difference between 6RD920870A and 6RD920870 (this one is installed in this Indian Polo GT: https://goo.gl/gpq1VX)
Would highly appreciate your quick reply before I commit to this seller, thanks!!

I also have the A model installed, it has the updated software (which is better in case of future retrofits), works wonderfully once it's adapted.
The Gannu thread warns you of everything you need to know.

Thank you so much for the reply :)
I will go ahead with the purchase, on similar note would it be possible to have direct TPMS just by adding TPMS module along with new cluster or do I have to upgrade the BCM from stock (6R0 937 087)?
Also, I am planning for GTI steering with paddles along with maxi dot cluster. Sellers here are quoting exorbitant prices!! An ebay seller (from Maxico, from whom many in India have successfull installations) looks like he has shut shop, would be great if you or someone from forum give some pointers to source the steering.
hmthakur, could you please post here about your GTI steering? where was this sourced from?

Huge thanks again, am very excited for upcoming upgrades on my ride :D

Hi blueeyes
Sourcing gti cluster is not a problem but for installation you would have to go to VW service centre.
Even I had sourced one from China through Taobao. Got it installed in Vw service.
As per my knowledge you can activate TPMS with existing bcm and upgrading to gti cluster, just check that cluster has software 0805. Master cicolo could answer it correctly.
I had got my steering from GCP Tunning. It seems their website doesn’t work any more. So can’t help you their.

Understood, person I am purchasing it from had done this earlier from his contacts at VW service center, so that should take are of it.

I will patiently wait for his response before commiting to this project. Unless it involves BCM upgrade I definitely want to get it done.

I will try my luck with other vendors and keep looking up online.

Direct TPMS ---> Address 65 must be present in the Gateway installation list.
VCDS: gateway, installation list, search for 65 address.
The BCM has to be changed if it is not present.

Recommendation: open a new personal thread in 6R section, post Autoscan, pics from your car, links, etc... that is, the information that you consider most appropriate to receive help.

For the GTI steering wheel with paddles search on eBay o googled ...vagretrofit..., maybe they have what you are looking for. I do not know if they ship to India. (without airbag and with the appropriate buttons about € 300)

NO

SB60 = SPT Standard Power Timer
SB5/6 = JPT Junior Power Timer

They're usually the most common.
