Hi Ciclo,

Hello again after long break, after holidays I went straight to hospital for 2 week ( not COVID-19 :) )

I can confirm there is no HBA function available ( in Gateway installation list ) for BCM 7H...090 - at least in 5 that I have from years 2011 to 2014

I still have a problem with return spring stalk I followed diagram you made from Adam87

High beam goes on when I push lever towards dashboard, but they stay on, only way to switch them off is either switch off ignition or switch on low beam and switch them off
I dunno what function have wire from T41/39 that goes to T73b/8, but it doesn’t do anything after 12v supplied to it
I belive high beam should flash

It seems like bad coding unless there is an error in diagram
I changed channel 54 to 1, switched off byte 23 bit 0 and switched on byte 28 bit 3
Have I missed anything?

Any chance you can provide me a plug part no and pin out for HBA camera, I did all pre-wiring before

Everything is correct (my diagram and BCM coding), the problem is that you need to install a BCM 7E0. As you have confirmed, the functions related to the high beam and the stalk/lever with return spring are only included in the software of the BCM 7E0 models.

T73b/8 is the signal input for HB.

Hi Ciclo,
I did installed 7E0...90 BCM, I have 2 and both of them getting same problem

On 7E0 there is no need to change PWM, like with 7H

On 7H0...90 BCM you can not change byte 28 bit 3 to 1

To avoid misunderstandings, this is the way it should work, ... or to turn on the high beams automatically how to turn them off:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2nv91 ... B0MTg/view

Have you checked it as the previous link says?
Some wire must be incorrectly installed if you have checked and it does not work as explained in the link.

Ok, so thats the way how it works even if HBA is not activated yet ( channel 53 is still on 0 )
This is not a big issue, if its the way how I need to switch them off, at least they work :)
I wondering why flasher is not working, if I put 12v on T41/39 ( goes to T73b/8 ) nothing happens, from what I understand from diagram T40 and T41 are responsible for constant high beam, T38 and T39 for flasher, unless I am wrong

For HBA, if I am right
T8/1 +15
T8/2 ground
T8/3 can hi
T8/6 overhead light button ? - what value of diode 12v/amp?
T8/8 can lo

Where +30 (T3 connector) goes and high beam signal (T4 connector ) from Adam87’a diagram/instalation manual as I cant work it out, they are not on T5.1 diagram

It is not exactly like that, you have to take into account the internal switches of the lever/stalk, ... and the signals +15 and + 30 (that is, it also depends on the ignition switch).

To summarize and not extend to explanations, the problem must be in the input T41 / 38 with signal +30 in case the HB flash does not work with ignition switch OFF.

---

Signals in the diagram (and in all VW diagrams)

56a = HB
56b = LB

56a can be supplied by +15 or +30 depending on the position of the internal stalk switches and the other circumstances.

---

The diagram you have posted is correct, which is exactly the same as the diagram/scheme that I have posted/made.

I haven't reviewed the installation guide for Adam for a long time, so I can't tell you anything about it ... to make Adam's wiring (in MODE very good friends) I used the connectors I had available at the time :| , ... with the sole purpose of facilitating subsequent wiring installation.

Later Adam surprised me when I saw the images of his wiring installation process that also included the installation of the new Climatronic unit and other gadgets. 😎
He dismantled the whole dashboard, etc ... (good old days :) ).

Hi Ciclo,

High beam is working fine after all, it was wrong coding

It is my original coding:
A0B2F93A4E61241393288E716E2B8EF54280662F60857840320003020400

It is a new coding that I took from my mate who has T6 wit factory fitted return spring stalk

B8AC39B86A61341293284F207E8B9F50C094738960CD79F03204003F0860

The issue is in a code marked in red

Maybe it will help someone who has the same issue

The issue lies in Byte28 Bit3, which in your case must be activated, in fact it must be activated in all PQ25 with electrical installation such as T6 since 2015, that is, with HB stalk with return spring.
I already mentioned it here viewtopic.php?p=575865#p575865

Forget Byte29, in your case it must be 00 HEX, because you do not have installed control modules for LED headlights, etc.

My mistake, I switched on bit 2 instead of 3

Everything works now

Hi,
Anyone have an idea what that yellow and brown wires with 2 pin connector are for?

Hi,
Thanks for reply
Nothing important then, don’t have to be connected
However it can be a handy retrofit for cold days

Unfortunately there are no empty pins in a stalk tape to make it work and I don’t think there is a way to use Touareg or Golf tape to get extra 2 pins

hello, I am going to undertake this oem mod on my 2012 T5.1 caravelle, I need to upgrade my BCM first as I have a 087, my first simple question is does the BCM I upgrade to matter much?

In the sense of choosing between the 7H0937090 or 7E0937090, I understand the latter come from the T6, and the other come from the T5GP. The ones I am looking at to buy have dates of 03.03.15 and 13.07.16 respectively.

Both are the same price, just didnt know if one is better than the other or more compatible should I say.

I dont have factory xenons, just H7's with front fogs and drls.
