A coolant drain tap on the 6C/6R Polos?

Post by veteran »

Is the 6C/6R Polo equipped with a built-in coolant drain tap? I see from the Haynes manual for the earlier breed of Polo that those earlier Polos had a little on/off drain tap built into one of the lower coolant hoses, making it a lot easier to remove some or all of the coolant when required. Or, with the 6C/6R Polos (2014-17), is undoing one of the bottom hoses from, say, the radiator the only way of dealing with it? (From experience with previous vehicles where undoing a lower hose has been the only way, even catching the fluid in a bowl, it tends to splash everywhere). Thus far, I've been under the vehicle only a few times with the engine/gearbox protective tray off and I must say I've not as yet spotted anything resembling a coolant drain tap. So, either it's fairly well hidden or there isn't one anyway.

If yours is a post 2014 model then it will likely be a 6C (it's best to be specific as to which version you have when posting with queries so answers are relevant).
