New, whitter headlights and foglights.
New, whitter headlights and foglights.
Hello guys!
Looking to replace all of my front bulbs for new whitter ones. I don't necessarily need them to be stronger/brighter, I just want a whitter glow (maybe a tad bit stronger too).
I'm talking about all of the front bulbs headlights and foglights/drls. The car is a 2017 R-line. Could anyone guide me to the bulb types ? Maybe a suggestion too?

Re: New, whitter headlights and foglights.
could be wrong, but i think as long as your using normal bulbs, your not really going to achieve a popper "white look" - i think the only way to achieve those results is with LED or xenon
Re: New, whitter headlights and foglights.
I have Osram H8 Cool Blue Intense XenonLook 4200K bulbs in my fog lights, and there is no big difference between these and factory bulbs.
When I had H7 headlights, I had white H7 bulbs: Xenon Look 4100K from Dectane (HERH7 55W) and the difference was quite noticeable, but you must know that with an usual bulbs you will never get the color of snow-white.
I'm not a supporter of LED bulbs in headlights for H4/H7 bulbs, they are quite dazzling and you may have a problem with the technical inspection of the car...
@ciclo has got nice LEDs in fog lights, check this viewtopic.php?f=56&t=58703&start=285#p479470
Maybe now he has a different set, from what I remember he wanted to change it into something more interesting

Re: New, whitter headlights and foglights.
Sorry i'm kinda stealing his topic, but he may ask this anyway - what is the best bulb to go for, for xenon look - i tried LEDS but the car refused them CONSTANTLYCNK wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2018 9:20 pm I have Osram H8 Cool Blue Intense XenonLook 4200K bulbs in my fog lights, and there is no big difference between these and factory bulbs.

Re: New, whitter headlights and foglights.
there are these blue-coated halogen bulbs, but i'm not quite sure they work. if you want xenon look, buy xenon. sounds stupid but that's the way to go.
Re: New, whitter headlights and foglights.
Yes, I support you one hundred percent. I don't like drivers of cars with custom LEDs or cheap Xenon Kits when I driving at night..
Re: New, whitter headlights and foglights.
Thanks for the replies guys!
I don't really like xenons. They are to strong/bright for me. I really have no visibility issues with the stock bulbs. I just want some whitter glow. Nothing too crazy. Especially for the foglights/drls. They are just too yellow! I see other cars with much whitter factory bulbs driving arround every day.
What type of bulbs are suitable for the foglights/drls and the low-high beams?

Can you show a picture of your lamps? I think foglights = H8, DRL in foglights = BA15s 1156
Few years ago in my old bumper I had 5.5K LED bulbs, comparison below:

Re: New, whitter headlights and foglights.
Osram Nightbreaker Unlimited H7s will give you a whiter light over standard bulbs. Ive got a set in my TT for the high beams and it does make a difference.

Re: New, whitter headlights and foglights.
After a bit of search they seem like a nice and inexpensive solution! But I'm still wondering what type of bulbs are suitable for the low/high beams for my 2017R-line. I can't find anything on the internet too. Does that mean I'll have to pull my current bulbs to fins out the sizes?alexperkins wrote: ↑Tue Jan 09, 2018 12:02 pm Osram Nightbreaker Unlimited H7s will give you a whiter light over standard bulbs. Re: New, whitter headlights and foglights.
Do you have headlights like these:

6C1941005 / 6C1941005B (left) + 6C1941006 / 6C1941006B (right)
If so, then you have H7 bulbs
Look at the markings in the upper left corner of the label
