Maybe the problem is that you don't know how it works.

Coming Home. Semiautomatic.
- Ignition switch OFF
- Pull from High Beam stalk/lever once (flash).
- Open the driver's door. Lights turn on.

It will work equally if you already have the door open.
And NO... not is possible in automatic mode.

Leaving Home is automatic... when you open the car with remote the lights turn on.

1st... clear all DTCs with VCDS. (to clear intermittent faults)

Question:
When installing the steering angle sensor, did you take into account that it has to have the same turns on each side?

It's highly likely that you've broken the internal cable of your sensor if you didn't take it into account when you installed it. (when turning the steering wheel)

In the following image you can see the cable to which I refer...

... but your sensor doesn't have this verification window, so your cable is not visible.

Another possible cause is that you haven't pressed with enough force the locking mechanism of T41 connector.

If the tape of the clock spring has been torn, I'd also expect an error for the driver side airbag igniter and the MFS not being detected.

Dear ciclo and iichel,

Thank you for your advises.

Concerning the steering wheel position sensor :
I whitnessed that it was not working correctly because the right cornering light was still working while the wheels were straight.
Then, by turning the steering wheel, I tested when the cornering lights went out and when the left cornering light switched on.
Thus I concluded that the steering wheel position sensor had one turn right offset when I reinstalled the steering wheel after BCM Max installation.
I then removed the steering wheel, turned the sensor one turn left and reinstalled the steering wheel.
After that the cornering lights worked well, and after DTCs clearing, there was no fault remaining due to the ESP and TPMS and these indicators have switched off on the instrument cluster.

After that I installed the additionnal wiring loom to restore the DRL function with the BCM Max.

When plugging the DRL loom terminals in the BCM plugs, I controlled the T73a/6 terminal for rear fog light power : no problem.
I then controlled the splice : I pulled on the wires but it remained crimped.
I then controlled the rear fog light bulb : in good condition.
I then controlled the fuse 18 : in good condition.
I then controlled the currents with help of a 12V lamp with long wires :

When the rear fog light is switched OFF at the light switch :
- The rear fog light indicator remains switched OFF at the instrument cluster.
- No current at the splice (neither at the black wire side, nor at the grey/black wire side).
- No current at the fuse 18 pins.
- No current at the rear fog light bulb socket.

When the rear fog light is switched ON at the light switch :
- The rear fog light indicator switches ON at the instrument cluster.
- +12V current arrives at the splice (at the black wire side AND at the grey/black wire side).
- +12V current arrives at the fuse 18 pin.
- No current at the rear fog light bulb socket (no current at the grey wire at the rear left tail-light plug).
- The indicator that warns for lamp fault switches ON at the instrument cluster.

When installing the BCM Max wires with auto lights, I only worked on the things you described on the document you issued for my Polo wiring configuration.
The rear fog lamp was working well before doing the wiring modifications for BCM Max installation .
Could you please help me clear this problem?

Please check the T3aa connector (if possible take pictures).

Please make a new autoscan and post here, it may be necessary to correct some codings/adaptations/installation list from some units.

I would like to avoid parting the whole car into single parts to find this thing.
As far as I understand: items 10, 20, 13, 26 & 40 are located outside the car, after the grommet 16 and behind the rear bumper, I am right ?
Could you confirm that I need to remove the rear bumper to find this T3aa connector ?

You don't have to remove the rear bumper.
Seems that there are two trailer power socket versions, and it's high likely that your 6R will have the version without the T3aa connector.

Hi Ciclo,

As I am not car electrician engineer, I started to look for the T3aa switch by following the grey wire which supplies the rear fog light at the left tail light.
For that I have had to remove the interior trim of the trunk to be able to see and follow the wires wrapped and cliped on the car body inside the trunk.
This led me to the grommet that separates the inside of the car from the outside where the electrical looms goes out to supply the registration plate lamps and the trailer's power socket.

The T3aa switch is part of the trailer's power socket: its role is to shut off the car's rear fog light when plugging a trainer.
It operates by te help of a small hook inside the trailer's power socket (grey finger Inside the plug).

I did not manage to extract it from the trailer's power socket.

I operated the hook several times and the failure disappeared.
It may have been faulty before the BCM Max upgrade but I did not whitnessed it before.

Finally the autoscan is now as before BCM Max upgrade:

To clear address 61 from the installation list with VCDS you have to do the following:

-Re-register address 61 in the gateway installation list. (address 19)
-Codify address 61 with this coding--> 00000000 (address 61).
-Unmark again address 61 from gateway installation list. (address 19).
-Go to autoscan --> click gateway installation list - wait - and click in Clear all DTC's.

Address 61 must disappear from installation list.

Why is it necessary to clear address 61 from the CAN installation list?
I see that address 61 is listed when starting auto-scan but there is no report of address 61 in the scan.
My car does not have a module at the arrdess 61 (Battery regul) ?
