BCM Max PQ25, adaptation. Automatic lights. Skoda Citigo/VW Up!

Post by danikd »

Hi Ciclo and other 6R fans,

can you please help me with Polos little brother Citigo MY2013 which is 2nd car in family. Citigo/Up! share same technology as Polo so I make some retrofits with help of Polos fans instructions ...
Max BCM, MFSW, Maxidot Cluster, Cruise COntrol, RLS ...
All is working OK, only need to adapt BCM/Lights harness to the right one for autolight ... from old 17pin to new 10pin BCM controlled lights.
Now I used china autolight standalone unit, which works, but sometime very strange. And there are 3 errors in BCM, due improper connenction of BCM.
So I want to install Ciclos harness to resolve this.
Thx for everyones advices and suggestions.
Sorry for my bad English.
Nice day!

Daniel

Very similar (PQ25 platform) but it is not exactly the same. The fuse box is the main reason to do a study.
We will try to do it in the cheapest way possible with original parts.

What is the reference number of the light switch with Auto function that you will use?

Please, take one o two photos (general view) of your Citigo in which we see the headlights and the light sensor.
Also a general image from the fuse box/relay carrier/BCM support so that I can imagine the lengths of the wires to be installed, the Citigo is unknown to me.
Btw, many thanks for the other images. 8)

Hello,

now I use china headlight switch from china light sensor kit. In the evening I find original OEM part number. But I think that connection is same on all of these ...
Now there are original preFL headlights ( 1xH1 bulb ), later I will retrofit original FL headlights with LED daylight ( 2x H7 bulbs ). Both has same harness, only new one has merged whole harness to one 10 pin connector on the back of the headlight. Old one has splitted cables to the bulbs ... Harness is same, even colours - few Citigo users changed headlights these days ...
RLS sensor I have retrofited ( including wind shield ), harness like OEM way - I have RLS from aliexpress 5K7 955 559 B, but will be changed for original Citigo 5K7 955 559 C. I have it, only not installed yet.
RLS is working, rain sensor part only ...
BCM is on the back of relay carrier ( very bad access - so impossible to make general photo ) and fusebox is mounted on the bottom of relay holder, fuses facing floor. So from anywhere ( BCM-Fusebox-Relays ) its short way, about 20-30cm ...
See drawing I find for idea, I add fusebox location - red pencil ...
Thx a lot for your time!

Daniel

Hello Daniel. Sorry for delay, I've been really busy.

The study is finished. Everything will work perfectly in your Citigo with my special wiring for BCM Max adaptation and wiring for automatic lights.
I'll do an installation guide.

The BCM Max adaptation wiring will include the necessary signal for your present and future DRLs (under BCM control, it is needed for automatic lights).

Your current electrical installation of DRLs is not correct for automatic lights. It is solved by isolating the T17/3 light switch connector wire.
Now you must do a new electrical installation for DRLs by installing two new wires:
- from T73b/3 to T3d/1 .... left headlight.
- from T73a/5 to T3g/1 .... right headlight.
Current wires in headlights for DRLs are violet/green in T3 connectors, remove from connectors and isolate them with cloth tape.
Install the new wires in their place.

Later you will install these new wires in the T10 new connectors of new H7 headlights with LED DRLs.

Well, I need you do the next thing before I manufacture your wiring looms:
- Verify that a green/white wire is present in T73a/62 BCM black connector.
- Make a 'NEW' VCDS autoscan. (Mandatory :))

Possible light switches with Auto function for your Citigo.
1Z0941431K
5L0941431E
Do a search on google, ebay, aliexpress, etc, with these reference numbers.

However, if you know another reference number, please let me know before you buy it.

Hello ciclo!

Glad to hear that info. Many thanks for your work. I ordered 1Z0941431K.
Pls be patient, I am very busy too, adding new wires will be in 1-2 weeks.
After you send me new harness, will be there some more wires to engine compartment ( throught the firewall ) ?
Because its the worst part of the work and if will be there more wires, I will meke it now with two DRL wires ...
Thx for Info

No, at least not related to this installation.
Please link me to the installation (DIY) of the H7 headlights with LED DRLs for the Citigo.

Please,

There is no instruction for DIY new FL headlights ... only 2-3 people on Czech forum mention this and one that do it for one user wrote me that is only simple harness to connector swap. BUt on the other side, they sad that there is no dimming feature with turn signals... this is logical, its controlled via BCM ...
Pls be patient, I need one week to install new two wiress and check BCM ...
Thx Daniel

Hi Daniel.

Do you have any device connected in the SC39 slot? (I see there are two terminals in this slot)

It is very important to know.
