1.2 TSI CBZB engine judder?

Post by Ash6R »

A few weeks back i started noticing this slight engine judder when accelerating hard in any gear other than 1st. Yesterday i changed the coil pack and the ignition cables thinking that was the problem. I took it out for short drive and didn't notice the judder so thought that fixed the problem. However today i noticed the same problem again, the judder when accelerating. I'm a bit stumped what the issue could be. The engines done 54,700 miles, just did a oil and filter change last week with Castrol Edge 5W30 and bosch filter. Has anyone else experienced any similar issues like this before? Could it be spark plugs? Thought they would last until 100k miles or so though...

Yes it could be the plugs. Perhaps you can take them out for a visual inspection?

How do you know if the spark plugs look bad?

I haven't driven a petrol car myself, so no first-hand experience, but this video could be useful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMYAEtxiYfc
