2 cylinder mode solenoid location?

Post by Blairzxy »

Does anyone know where the solenoids for the 2 cylinder mode are on the polo blue gt I was told you could do something with them to turn it off.

There are two mounted on top of each cam cover offset from the centre.

Given the revolution/demand algorithm that controls their operation disabling them will not improve either power or torque but it will increase petrol consumption and emissions. Disengagement only takes place when power is not being demanded either by load or right foot.

The increased emissions may be picked up under the proposed tightening of MoT testing and could result in failure.

If you do find a way to disable the system you will need to ensure that the moveable elements are not able to move under their own volition, lack of restraint could prove to be calamitous.

I’m not trying to discourage you and I hope whatever you eventually decide to do works out well for you.
