Hello gents!
I have IBIZA IV 6J 2009 – “almost” POLO 6R.
Ibiza with ESP, angle sensor, Fog lights (cornering lights), without RLS. Engine BXW
According to tutorials from this forum (concerning POLO) I wanted to make BCM upgrade and add RLS and AUTO lights.
In Ibiza I had BCM 6R0937087, I’ve bought 7H0937090B
I made new wirings according to wiring diagrams from ELSA (for IC, switch and lights, no RLS yet) . After upgrade all lights work. No errors.
Unfortunately after replacing BCM I found one serious problem.
After assembling 7H0937090B, using VCDS I cannot connect to controller of Engine. I thought that BCM is damaged, I borrowed other 7H0937090 and found the same situation – not possible to connect to controller.
VCDS (original) trying to connect to the engine – feedback – “questionable protocol” or “no response from controller”. Rest of controllers I can connect via CAN without any problems.
I used other device ELM 327 – the same situation.
With 6R0937087 that problem doesn’t appear – I can connect to the engine.
What is going on?
Regards
Tom

Re: After BCM upgrade – problem
Do you maybe have a scan of the rest of the car?

Re: After BCM upgrade – problem
Hi
Below autoscan before BCM upgrade with original BCM 6R0937087
Unfortunately after changing BCM to 7H0937090B I cannot make autoscan.
Autoscan stops, because VCDS cannot connect to 01 Engine
What is strange, when I try to enetr OBDII mode in VCDS (with 7H0937090B) - I receive feedback "questionable protocol"

Re: After BCM upgrade – problem
I had similar problem with my Polo 6R; I was no more able to autoscan engine because I always got an "engine cannot be reached" error (but anyway autoscan still goes on with the rest of addresses). Please take a look here to last ciclo's post. I solved that issue thanks to his solutions:

Re: After BCM upgrade – problem
I finally solved the problem. I've read on Spanish Seat forum, that sometimes newer CAN gateway has a problem with connection to older modules (e. g. engine).
I've bought older BCM 7H0937089D.
I've changed back CAN wires from IC to BCM. After replacing BCM - everything works well. No errors, I can make full autoscan using VCDS.
It seems that BCM 7H0937090B was too new for my car (my car is 2008).
I have original light swith AUTO from Seat Ibiza - this weekend the final assembling - adding Auto light mode.
