Perfect, we will review and update the BCM coding when the wiring installation for the automatic lights is finished, ... or when needed.

Re: some errors after upgrading 1S0937087D bcm to 1S0937090F
Today I replaced the existing T73b/11 fog+drl power input with a new wire.
I used a bridge in relay J33 to get permanent 12v (+30) and routed it to fuse SC50 (20A) and from there to T73b/11.
So now I'm ready to reconnect the DRLS directly to the BCM, hopefully soon...
Here's a picture of the new side mirrors with integrated turn flasher:
Best regards,

Re: some errors after upgrading 1S0937087D bcm to 1S0937090F
Hi guys,
I was just wondering if it is possible to activate the "faulty lamp" icon the UP/Citigo MFA+ (or for example Polo) cluster?
The last year I was driving with several errors about lamps in BCM because of unfinished wiring but I didn't have the "faulty lamp" icon in cluster.
Also the cluster doesn't show this information on the LCD afaik.
It is nice to have lamp diagnostic but without any indication to the driver it isn't much helpfull
On Passat/Golf6/etc. (PQ4x) platform the cluster checks a specific canbus message to activate this icon, but I have a feeling on Polo/UP (PQ25) platform this "faulty lamp" icon is maybe controlled by a signal on the cluster's 32pin connector?
Does anyone have information how to make this "faulty lamp" icon work, if possible at all?
Thank you,
H2Deetoo

Re: some errors after upgrading 1S0937087D bcm to 1S0937090F
I think the first thing you should do is check if the icon is available on the dial, you can bring a powerful flashlight to the dials to display the icons available on your IC.
If the icon is available you will have to remove the IC and physically check if it is possible to solder an appropriate SMD LED at the exact two points (+/-) to match the icon.
The third and last step would be to find out in the eeprom data dump which is the hexadecimal Byte to modify so that the icon turns on when it should.
The ideal and easy thing would be to find a second-hand IC for VW UP that has this function available.
Some specialized diagnostic tools are necessary.
Madwarlock is the magician of the ICs, try to contact him (although it will be difficult because lately he is a very busy daddy ).

Re: some errors after upgrading 1S0937087D bcm to 1S0937090F
I just checked a Polo lowline cluster, it does have the icon and led soldered in place.
Then I checked a Beetle 5C5 cluster (which is same hardware as the UP MFA+ cluster) and it doesn't have this icon.
The layout could be different so I will check my actual UP cluster (later).
I will simply try and gather more infos for now.
Let MadWarlock enjoy his new family

Re: some errors after upgrading 1S0937087D bcm to 1S0937090F
Hi guys,
Today I was able to rewire my DRLs so that they are under BCM control.
Last week I already replaced the orig wire from T73b/11 with a new 1.5mm2 wire to free fuse SC50 (20A) which I wired to J33 with bridge to get 12v 30a, for my fog lights and as preparation for the DRLs.
Here is what I did today:
First I removed, isolated orig T73b/68 and put a new wire (at least) 1.0mm and connected to fuse SC43A (15A) which comes from fuse SB2 (30A) from battery.
Then I isolated the left DRL and connected a new wire to it and routed it inside.
The right DRL was still connected to fuse SC22 connected to lightswitch T17/3.
Quick in between test:
After ingnition on and light switch on '0' only the right DRL was still working. Good.
Next step I connected left DRL wire to T73b/3.
Then removed fuse SC22 and removed wire SC22A and connected it to T73a/5.
Last wire I placed from T73b/29 to T17/3 (and I removed and isolated the orig gray wire in T17/3)
At that time I did not changed any coding regarding to DRL but I decided to test the current behaviour. It seems the DRLS didn't work, which is obvious.
But also the dipped beam did not work anymore!?
I panicked a little and disconnected the wire T17/3 and left it floating.
Then I coded several bits in the BCM to enable Daytime Running Lights and to my surprise the DRLs started to work as they should: on when switch '0' and off in all other situations.
How is this possible without T73b/29 (T17/3) being connected??
After a coffee break I reconnected T17/3 and everything worked as expected.
I tested most or all light situations and they all looked OK.
Does anyone have any idea how my DRLS could work without T73b/29 being connected (left floating)?
I ask this to double-check if I didn't make a mistake somewhere...
For completeness here is VCDS log (and the BCM is still error free):
Is someone (ciclo?) willing to have a look at my BCM coding to see if there are improvements to do?
Btw, I noticed some funny coding options like:
- DRL inactive when handbreak engaged
- Foglights on when in reverse
- Foglights off when high beam enabled
What's the reason for them? Mandatory in some countries?
Also can someone explain what these coding options will do:
LC,12,1,Daytime Running Light (DRL) adjustable (Manually AND/OR Instrument Cluster)
LC,21,0,Tagfahrleuchtenkombination, 0 = 20 W, 1 = LED
LC,21,1,Switch/Instrument Lights Dimming via Fixed Value active
Next job will be to install the AutoLights loom with relay which ciclo provided!
Best regards,
H2Deetoo

Btw, I noticed some funny coding options like:
- DRL inactive when handbreak engaged
- Foglights on when in reverse
- Foglights off when high beam enabled
What's the reason for them? Mandatory in some countries?
Also can someone explain what these coding options will do:
LC,12,1,Daytime Running Light (DRL) adjustable (Manually AND/OR Instrument Cluster)
LC,21,0,Tagfahrleuchtenkombination, 0 = 20 W, 1 = LED
LC,21,1,Switch/Instrument Lights Dimming via Fixed Value active
Next job will be to install the AutoLights loom with relay which ciclo provided!
Best regards,
H2Deetoo

These are just nice to have but not mandatory here.

LC,21,0,Tagfahrleuchtenkombination, 0 = 20 W, 1 = LED --> on Polo 6R and T5.2/6 they are for the factory bi-xenon/LED headlights for the DRL module
LC,21,1,Switch/Instrument Lights Dimming via Fixed Value active --> parking lights at full brightness for LED DRL on the bi-xenon/LED headlights

Re: some errors after upgrading 1S0937087D bcm to 1S0937090F
Your BCM Max knows at all times what the positions of the light switch and the ignition switch are, so the T73b / 29 cable is not really necessary after introducing the new BCM coding for DRLs.H2Deetoo wrote: ↑Sat Nov 14, 2020 6:40 pm
How is this possible without T73b/29 (T17/3) being connected?? Does anyone have any idea how my DRLS could work without T73b/29 being connected (left floating)?
Is someone (ciclo?) willing to have a look at my BCM coding to see if there are improvements to do?
Next job will be to install the AutoLights loom with relay which ciclo provided!
Best regards,
H2Deetoo
A long time ago I assumed that the cable is installed because the electrical signals that the BCM receives in all VW PQ25 models sold all over the world with different engines and different electrical configuration (light switch, etc.) are not the same. In this way it is certain that the DRLs will work (which are mandatory in many countries).
Leave the BCM coding as it is ... everything is OK for now, I will review it in depth when you finish the installation of the wiring for automatic lights (it is my obligation ).
As I did with everyone I will provide you with some links to activate or deactivate functions for the lights, although I see that you have found some of them. You can see these links on the first page of my 6R thread. This is what I have always done after I was informed of the correct operation of all lights after someone installed my auto light wiring.
Recommendation, check the information you have, or do tests on your 6R.iichel wrote: ↑Sat Nov 14, 2020 7:31 pm LC,12,1,Daytime Running Light (DRL) adjustable (Manually AND/OR Instrument Cluster) --> part of auto lights coding (NO)

note: LC 12,1, not possible for 6R and many others PQ25, it depends on the IC software or information system (Head unit).

Re: some errors after upgrading 1S0937087D bcm to 1S0937090F
Today I put in the auto-lights loom with red connector and 10pin headlight switch.
Most lights work (fog front, fog rear, DRL, parking, dipped beam) but I have some problems:
- main beam works only when flashing (pulling stalk towards me). It does not work when push stalk away.
I see only ~1.5v on T73a/1 and it doesn't change. So the relay does not activate.
- Interior lights don't work. There seems to be no voltage coming from T73b/4 (dimmer output).
Maybe I made a mistake in wiring or some additional coding is needed?
Auto light function is working. Also leaving-home is working, I can even select to use dipped beam or fog lights, both work for LH.
I haven't tested CH yet.
Regards,
H2Deetoo

Re: some errors after upgrading 1S0937087D bcm to 1S0937090F
Yes, a new BCM coding is required.
Please post a new Autoscan with the auto light wiring installed.
Just to confirm:
- DRLs under BCM control installed
- Interior lights dimmer installed
- LED license plate lights installed
I guess you should have asked me before doing all the measurement work on the terminals.
Remind you that CH is a semi-automatic function:
- Remove the key from the ignition switch, pull the HB lever towards you once (flash), and when you open the driver's door or with the door open the lights will come on.

Re: some errors after upgrading 1S0937087D bcm to 1S0937090F
Hi,
- DRLs under BCM control installed
YES
- Interior lights dimmer installed
NO. I don't have a dimmer and when we discussed the loom I decided to not use an external dimmer.
- LED license plate lights installed
No LED but normal lamp (I think). I did not connect it separately to BCM because it is currently already working and not enabled when using parking light left or right when ignition off.
BCM coding hasn't changed since the previous one I posted in my topic but I will make a new scan and post it here.
I can confirm CH is working also correctly.

H2Deetoo
