MFSW steer swap

Post by cypress »

Goodday everyone,

I would like to change my steering wheel to one with steering wheel controls and paddles.

Now I have one in view of a Golf 6 GTI.
However, I am not sure if it will work without upgrading the BCM.

I know I have to put the 2 wires to make the buttons work

And I have some more questions.
When I have built in the steering wheel.

what do I have to do to get the paddles working?

Can someone tell me if the Polo 6r airbag fits in a Golf 6 gti steering wheel?

I would like to hear from you :)

My polo is a 6r 1.2TSI DSG from 2010

I also added 2 photos. 1 from my steering wheel and one from the seller

It's all the same, Polo 6R wheel, Golf 6 wheel. Doesn't really matter, it should work. And get yourself a recent VCDS please, 12.12 is 8 years old.

it is probably better to buy a new VCDS.
However, it will probably become one of aliexpress.

The wheel of the golf 6 gti is unfortunately sold. Was in contact with the seller. was busy making a date to pick it up.

Now I have found a kind of similar steering wheel from a 2011 Passat on Onderdelenlijn.nl.
I suspect it will be the same as the Golf.
So I contacted the company and am now waiting for response.

Should be activated with the activation of the MFSW. No extra action needed.

It took a while, but the steering wheel is in it! and works perfectly!
Super thanks !

Now the next project is a rear view camera in the VW emblem.
I had already made a post on facebook, and I was nicely helped there. but it got quite difficult and I couldn't get it anymore because of it.

I feel like that person doesn't like me anymore. :O

I am still very happy with the wheel!

THE reversing camera will probably become one of Aliexpress.
This is due to the DPS I have. Otherwise I cannot create 5.1 sound with an OEM radio.
So I take an Alpine radio for the sound quality
