Hi Guys,
My wife's Polo Blue GT (6c - 2016 model with the 150ps engine) is coming up to 5 years old. Does anyone know if these units use timing belts or chains and if belt, what the recommended replacement interval is please ?
Also, what would we be looking at from a main dealer for replacement prices please ?

Re: Polo 6c Blue GT - Timing Belt
It has a belt. Sorry, don’t know what the recommended change intervals are.
VW price for the cambelt change is £494;

Re: Polo 6c Blue GT - Timing Belt
VAG (Germany), the manufacturer, specifies a cam belt change at 140,000 miles, with no time-related change interval. This applies to most other territories EXCEPT UK, where VAG(UK) stipulates a change every 5 years irrespective of mileage. Despite several attempts by owners to obtain a rational explanation from VAG, none has ever been forthcoming. After concerted efforts by one particular member of the AudiSport forum, VAG (UK) reluctantly admitted that a check at 5 years rather than a mandatory change was all that was required. Despite this, UK dealers will still tell you that you must change the belt at 5 years........
