Built-in Auto Light Sensor Headlight Switch

Post by razborsek »

Hello,

I own a 2012 Polo 6R 1.2 TSI and want to change the light switch with a switch that has an integrated light sensor. I was looking for something like this: https://www.aliexpress.com/i/1005001456016274.html
Has anyone got any experience with this and knows how well it works? Is it just plug and play or does it require any coding or an adapter?
I'm open to any suggestion for other products that do the same thing.

Thank you in advance!

Hi,
i am thinking actually buying one of this switches
I owned a Polo 6c without auto light sensor.

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000598 ... 2e0ecI5kSC

This one has the light sensor build-in and supports Leaving Home and Coming Home functions.
What do you think ?

Yeah I was looking at the same one, but for the 6R model. I just don't know how responsive is that sensor and if it works well since its not mounted on the windshield like some other switches out there.

I fitted the type where the sensor is a separate part that you hide in the dash. Works well, I’ll try to find a link

I want to buy one, but now I'm not sure if my car has daytime running lights. If it doesn't I feel like changing the headlights switch is pointless. IDK if there is a way to check this via my VIN number, but right now no matter on what position the light switch is the tail lights stay on. And If I'm correct that means that I have no daylight running lights?

On my 2010 6r the side lights and main lights are on all the time.... so i think that is the 'DRL' - it's only a base spec poverty model.....

I presume buying the switch will work.....
