Any thoughts on a reasonable life expectancy for the Lambda sensor?
Has anybody any positive experience of cleaning a carboned up sensor?

Re: Lambda Sensor Blue GT
Is this the first ie controlling sensor or the second monitoring one?
What is the fault code that is getting logged, in my experience it tends to be the B1 S1 and the heater circuit that fails.
Carboning up seems to be not so good, if B1 S1 then what is causing the extra mixture to be admitted to the combustion chambers, are you only using this car in town, if so that is not good.

Re: Lambda Sensor Blue GT
Thanks, not really sure just a casual remark from MoT tester today, “it’s showing a cat fault, we’ll sort it out next year. I think the problem is that since lockdown it’s been only short local trips but I’ve done 600 motorway miles over the last couple of weeks so something should have burnt off.
When I can raise enough energy and enthusiasm I’ll have a look at the fault codes and investigate properly. Suffering from near terminal apathy at the moment!
Thanks for your help, it’s much appreciated.
