Re: My 6N, Dutch style of course
Had a full weekend of car-related-time, which turned out to be spended wisely ^_^
Reassembled my airride fridaynight with the final parts (hoses and couplings) I finally got in last wednesday. All worked fine again, but improved B) put some wheels underneath, smacked on the bumpers and rear lights again, loaded it up with the parts to be used, and started at a friends garage on saturday morning, and spend all saturday and sunday there. Got all the suspension/braking items on the list done!
Rear axle taken off, blacked it again, pressed the Bonrath polybushings in:
Brand new parts from the VW-dealership to mount the rear disc-conversion:
New rear bearings in the new Zimmermann drilled discs, and mounted those on the axle:
And placed it back, with the Eibach anti-roll-bar on the rear again, Goodridge braided brakehoses, and derusted the metal brakelines on the rear axle, and blacked them nicely again:
Front Polo GTI hubs, with G60 brake set-up, again using Zimmermann drilled discs, Goodridge braided hoses etc.:
And a shot in between, gives a nice view on the new smoothed rear bumper and mk5 rear lights, one euro-spec one, and one UK-spec one, so both are all red:

Re: My 6N, Dutch style of course
Did the Anti Roll Bar require any modification to fit?
I checked with Eibach and they told me they dont produce a Rear ARB for the 6N MK4 or 6N2 MK5 model Polo's, the only type they have available are for the later 9N & 9N3 model. I really want an eibach rear ARB on my GTI.
Can you give me the part number if possible?
Cheers

Re: My 6N, Dutch style of course
It's a straight fit, Eibach did make them for the mk4/mk5 platform, but in a limited edition for racing purposes (several Cups in Germany and Holland), so they are very rare and almost impossible to track. I found 2 sets (Eibach front+rear ARB, 1 set for me, second for my best mate's mk4) in the previous 4 years, and bought both instantly, and please don't ask me on the prices I've paid, but yes, they're worth it!6N2 GTI 00 wrote:Did the Anti Roll Bar require any modification to fit?

Ben,
Next time the mk4 is up on a lift, I'll try to spot the partnumber, it's on there as I remember from removing the rear-axle 2 weeks ago, but I never wrote down the part number.

Re: My 6N, Dutch style of course
Thanks mate, they must be really rare then.
If you can get the part number that would be great, I can then get back in touch with Eibach to try and source a set
Cheers

Re: My 6N, Dutch style of course
Some shots taken Worthersee 2010:
brakedust sucks, Ferodo = sh!t for polished lips!
Loving camber B)
In front of our hotel:
And quickly parked in front of the Castle/Hotel Worthersee in Velden:
New rear-bumper was already installed for Worthersee, finally got my new grill-inserst in for the new frontbumper, so mounted it last saturday, including mk5 GTI lip and the new grill-inserts, no way to get a fresher look then by ordening new stuff at the local VW-dealership
I'm really pleased with how it looks now, and took off to Club Charlys the day after, last sunday, where a good mate of mine took some snaps of the new look up front:
And the Belgiums seemed to like it, I got called on stage to collect the 1st Price Polo 6N/6N2/9N(3)
