Wheels - HELP!

I've just bought a '97 Polo 16v and i'm looking for some wheels.

I'm gonna drop it by 40mm soon and i've found some 13" banded wheels that i think will look ace!

The wheel sizes are 13x8 rear and 13x7 front.
Tyre sizes are 185/70/r13 rear and 165/65/r13 front

They were on a MK1 Golf, anyone know if they will fit ok on my Polo?

I've been told they should be fine but someone else told me i need to check offsets etc, which i know nothing about!

dont think 13s fit on a 16v due to the brakes being bigger

pretty sure ive seen loads of polos on 13's, mabe not valvers tho

Speak to a member on ere Tyler16v1986 I know he done something similar and machined down his brakes to fit 12" mini wheels on.. Give him a pm
