Higher Gears For Gearbox?

Hi everyone. I am new to the forum. I just got my first polo it's mostly used as a daily comuter. I just moved to Germany from Canada so I am new at dealing with smaller cars. My polo is in great shape mechanically but I have a big complaint about the gearbox/transmission gearing. It's so low! In 5th gear when I am driving 100KPH the RPM is 4000! Redline is 5500 I feel like I am killing the motor. This sucks for driving on the autobahn. Is there anyone who sells a rebuilt gear box or a kit to regear so I can get a higher top speed with lower RPM? It would be nice to cruse on the HWY at 120KPH and be around 2500RPM ...

so i just took my 1.4 polo 6n1 for a test and roughly the revs are as follows,

3rd gear, at 100kph, 62mph ish.....4500 rpm

4th gear, at 100kph, 62mph ish.....3300rpm

5th gear, at 100kph, 62mph ish....2800rpm

so im not sure what is happening with your car sorry, hope this helps..

What engine is it? I'm almost sure you got an 1.0 gearbox on an 1.4 or 1.6 engine.

I drive an 6n GTI ARC Engine.

My 100 Km/h is 3200RPM. Original 6n2 GTI engine and gearbox. My redline is 7000
My housemate drives an 6n AJV engine and gearbox original (Older gti) and he drives 2700 RPM at 100 Km'h. His redline is: 6800

He just told me that the 1.6 8V REdline = 5700 RPM
