Replacement Headlights

Post by Sinus »

Hi, I'm replacing my headlights on my mk 3 polo 1996. Have got the new lights however the wiring harness has a 7 pin rectangular connector and I can't find where to plug it into the actual car body ?
Any ideas please
Thank you

Yours likely has early headlights with a different connector on them - Yours wont have headlight adjustment motors, so 4 pin rather than 7

Can you post a pic of your plug?

Hi, I'm sure I have the headlight adjustment motor...
I've included the following pictures.
The new headlight harness showing the 7 pin rectangular connector...
A picture of the headlight adjustable dial switch under, and to the right of my steering wheel.
Lastly the only pin connector I can find on my car body, a round 11 pin connector which screws off, so I'm a little stumped.
Thanks guys

Right ok, so you do have an early one with the round connector as i thought.

You dont have headlight levelling motors either - thats the dash dimmer switch.

let me see if i can find an adapter loom. Else, you may need different front lights. Where did you get them from?

That round plug you have pictured isnt the headlights by the way. Thats something else

There should be wires going into the back of each headlight - can you check.

Hi,
The lights I bought were from AD-Tuning Germany and were supposed to fit Polo models from 94-99.
I've included pictures from the car harness and the Headlight unit connectors, male and female if that helps....
Thanks

Ok those are the wrong headlights for your car. They only fit polos with headlight levelling motors

Yours don’t have leveling motors which is why they are four pin
