Post by LilLew »

Are you talking about a GTI 1.6 16V block swap?

I dont think its ever been done to be honest, not with an auto box.

Im not sure the auto box can take the increase in torque either as it wasnt designed with performance in mind. The ratios will be well off too making for poor acceleration

Theoretically, it could work though. The only thing to bear in mine is the GTI block has a larger 200mm clutch plate compared to the smaller engines and it may not fit within the housing of the auto box

Youll need to do a full engine loom swap as a bare minimum too, maybe interior aswell but then you have to start looking into dashboard swaps etc so you can use the 6N2 clocks, wiring etc.
