Also is it normal that you have to remove the plastic shell on the bottom of the radiator to make it fit on the heating matrix ?

The plastic shell on the matrix sometimes has to be removed. The matrix itself fits a number of different cars

Another question: I'm trying to find decent controls for the radio, is there the possibility to put a steering wheel with controls ? can I adapt a steering wheel from another model ? I read a topic about the scirocco (Scirocco Steering Wheel / Mk6 Wheel Fitting on 6n2 GTI) but I don't have the airbag. any advice ?

I read this but it has not controls and I don't know if it will fit on a car without airbags

The whole seperator inclusive of the seal is 036 103 464 G. Febi make an OE quality replacement with part number 38773

And no, controls wont be possible regardless of the wheel. These wheels need canbus which the polo doesnt have. Better to get an add on remote like the pioneer steering wheel remote.
