Hi there.
I have a problem that i hope one of you had before.
Drove through a big puddle and after 100 feet my engine went quiet. Now i had come across same issues and after letting the car "dry" for about 24 hrs it came back to life, but this time it's a little different because the car starts and runs but from time to time it looses power for couple seconds. Reminds me of the limpo mode i had on Seat Ibiza. This happens mostly when i am turning on a main road or side street at low speed and low rews. Can someone please point me in the right direction? Is it blown fuse? The engine looks dry. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank You.

What year is your polo?

Sounds like youve sucked water into the intake - could have become partially hydrolocked and now you have some bent valves. If its a 1.2 3 cylinder, theres every change the timing chain has stretched too.

I would replace the air filter, and clean and align the throttle body in the first instance

Also, when was the last time it had a dizzy cap, leads and sparks?
