Cheers guys.
So the story of the well-known crankcase breather and what to do with it.
I'm still doubting what to do with it on my GTI.
When I swapped the org. air box for a K&N Typhoon about a year ago, I found the airbox & filter had the sort of oil mist over it.
Also, my TB is still quite "misted" in oil. I'm planning to clean it soon but I also want to avoid future greasing.
As far as I know there is luckily no mayo present.
What are the best options to do with it?
Perhaps a stupid question but why can't you just cut the hose and lead it under the car?
I want to avoid greasing my TB / K&N / Inlet as far as possible.
Cheers guys, Marvin

You can pipe the crankcase breather down and out the way. Down to the fog area works with a breather filter on the end
Alternatively fit a catch can to the crankcase breather hose to prevent it making everything oily

I've done as Alex says and ran a length of pipe off of the breather and down behind the fog light, it's been like this for about 5 years
Word of caution though it'll come fairly close to the alternator belt so make sure it's secured well and clears the belt

Cheers guys for both your replies!
@6n2stan, did you use the filter on the end of the hose? Doesn't it get oily somewhere?
Many thanks mate. Cheers from rainy holland.

I dont use a filter but it is recommended. I don’t get any oil mess as it’s so far from the original breather.

Yes I did blank off the airbox inlet.
