Master brake cylinder size?

Post by 6N2GTI »

Good morning all,

Can someone here advise me the std GTI master brake cylinder size?
I find 20,6mm / 22mm / 23.8mm

I have upgrated to a G60 front upgrade (with Brembo Max discs/brembo pads) but still don't have the "confidence" feeling I'm looking for.
Hence looking around to see what else I can do.

Thanks!
Cheers marvin

I think it’s 23.8mm. You could upgrade to a 25mm one. When I had the g60s on mine it had a good feel. Have they been bled properly?

Hi Alex good afternoon,

Would a 25mm be a straight swap?
I assume the bleeding has been done right, got it done when replacing the brakes this April...

Although I have to say before changing the left front disc had blue-ish patterns on it and the car braked very poorly when braking pretty hard.
Changed to the G60 setup with Brembo grooved discs and pads.
However the left front brake squeezes like hell just before complete standstill. Noticed again blue-ish pattern on the disc. Overhauled the front calipers, the left one had some corrosion but not extreme.

So I'm a bit lost where to start, change discs and pads again first?
Would probably get some cheap ones just to see if that elimates the problem, and won't get the blue-ish pattern again.
