OBD2 communication problem

Post by Hayden1470 »

Hey guys,

In my GTi I currently have an engine management light on, an airbag light and my Aircon seems to turn itself on and off whenever it wants. I can't scan anything other than abs on the car to find faults as all I get is "link error". When I try to scan I can hear what sounds like the headlight levelers adjusting. I have checked fuses and all seem ok. And have tried unplugging and cleaning up the Aircon control unit and the clocks. Is there anything simple I should check first before going through wiring?

Mot is Thursday and want to get it sorted before then.

Thanks

What are you using as a scan tool ?

Very unusual to be able to read ABS codes and not the standard OBD codes......

Hi, I have same problem when I try to scan with VCDS or Autel.
I have this problem since the central locking stopped working.
The central locking pump is working perfectly in another car.
The windows work fine but without the automatic function (comfort?)
I've already tested the solutions I found here but without success.
Any solution please?
All fuses OK.
