My 1.0 TSI does about 2,250 rpm at 70 mph
Mine sits at 3,000rpm 1.4 n/a though.
RUM4MO wrote: Mon Jun 19, 2017 3:36 pm Yes, exactly, these modern TSI engines, even the slightly older 1.2TSI do hand out the goods even at low revs, so RPM at cruising is low. I think the need for having small turbo charged petrol engines, currently, does come from emissions and it will be the sorts of emissions that a new breed of particulate filter has been developed to get rid of as well as other forms of emissions that the next phase of Euro regs will throw at petrol engines.
I forget what exactly i read about emissions and small engines but it was linked the release of vw's new 1.5 tsi engine and how engine sizes will begin to get bigger now.

Also the more I see this new polo the more I think I want one :( bad time for having just swapped car  would love to know more about the engine of the gti and what it's getting spec wise on would it could be made to run remapped etc

Yes, but the problem is that if I buy this model will be with the maximum equipment.

I'm speechless with this new model ...(design, equipment, engines, etc...) it's awesome. 8)

2018 Polo NEW SHAPE

Been on the french facebook and saw some possible renders of a cabriolet and a polo R, I think they both pretty accurate if vw were to make these. The Polo R render looks just right in my opinion, just not a fan of the scirocco alloys.

I honestly can't see a Polo R happening - how powerful is it going to be? The GTI will be 197 and the Golf Gti is only 220 (I think?) Surely a Polo R will just eat into Golf sales

A polo WRC happened with the 6R, and a polo R would eat into the golf sales, but you could say that about the Golf R and Scirocco R.

Although i think the new polo will take a lot of sales from the golf infairness with it's increased size. But people buy because of what suits them hence a lot of people on here bought a polo instead of a golf because well it is cheaper but i'd say more because people fell inlove with the polos size looks and versatility as a car, with the polo you get 80% of what a golf offers in reality.

Plus don't think Vw are worried about one car taking anothers sale as long as they get a sale, especially when a polo R in theory would cost more than a mid spec golf.

At £1000 over a match edition for a 300W the sound system and some stickers, it's quite expensive when you could pay someone to retrofit a 600w sound system for £300. Just my opinion though

Ah well, at least it look like VW have addressed the issue with the main light switch indicator LEDs reflecting off the inside of the driver's window, which can be annoying for anyone who drives a lot at night outwith street lights.

I never actually noticed that or got annoyed by it, probably because at that time of the night the roads i use are deserted and you can allegedly concentrate on your track driving.

It's never really bothered me either. When I had my mk6 Golf, during daylight hours, I noticed the reflection of the shiny trim surround on the passenger side air vent reflecting in the passenger side front window much more.
