Gave the mats a shake out earlier today and saw this underneath the drivers one.
I know it's a bit nitpicky but you'd think this would have be cleaned during the PDI.

Red is the best colour (opening a can of worms)!
I have both sat outside the house and to me the red one looks a lot better than the white one externally.
The pic is a bit poor, as was the weather when I took it last night.

To be honest I think the white one looks better, the VW red is a bit pinky, it's not a good deep red.

Yes, a potential can of worms. A bit like starting a discussion on manual v’s DSG, petrol v’s diesel v’s electric and many other similar car related topics.monkeyhanger wrote: ↑Sat May 18, 2019 10:10 pm Red is the best colour (opening a can of worms)!

Given the choice of Flash Red or Pure White, I’d go for Pure White but that’s just my opinion and what’s right for one person might not be right for another. Why would I choose white over red?
- White is easier to maintain than red - especially If you entrust your car washing to one of the many £5 hand wash set-ups or you still use a single bucket, sponge and wash leather (I don’t - safe wash method only for me!) white will hide the inevitable paintwork swirls better.
- With VW using light coloured primers, stone chips won’t be as noticeable on white than they would be on red - they’d also be less obvious on white when touched in.
- If you’re unfortunate enough to need bodywork repairs, repainted panels on a red car can take on an orange tint under artificial light, although this might not be an issue these days with modern spectrophotometer paint matching technology used by reputable car body shops.
- Some colours - including red - can look great in bright, sunny conditions, but a bit lacklustre in dull light. White doesn’t seem to be affected in the same way and always looks............white.

The white one looks like it has been sneezed on by a classroom full of kids right now - about 100 freshly splattered greenfly from the trip to York.
If there was a proper metallic grey, rather than Limestone metallic (something like Audi Monsoon Grey), that would've been my first choice. Not a fan of the limited choice VW gave for the GTI. Even Reflex Silver available on the normal Polo would've got my vote.

Looks good; don’t see too many ‘non plus’ GTI’s on the forum. Keep away from those high kerbstones though! It might be the camera angle but in the third picture you look to have parked pretty close to the kerb. If you kerb your diamond cut alloys, it’ll cost you around £100-£110 a wheel to get a good quality refurbishment.
