Hello Polovivo, can I ask you what the offset off the wheels are? is 8 x 19 ET 49 , 215-35-19 rims?

I'm waiting for my Polo GTI and have the same problem as you mentioned with finding aftermarket wheels.

As the GTI has 7.5 x 18 ET 51 with 215/40/18 rims. Most off the wheels are ET 45 or even lower.

Thanks for your answer.

Hi,

Upgraded my Polo TSi to the GTi.

Lowered and wheels moved across.

Looks great. Really like the wheels; are they Oz Racing Leggera’s? Much better than the standard diamond cut wheels in my opinion.

Good to see wheel PCD's & centre bore's unchanged from older 6c's/6R's.
I have a spare set of "replica" 17" GTI Golf MK7 Monza's that are Polo 6c fitment, which like to use if I ever could afford a new GTI Polo (funds will I suspect only ever stretch to a R-line 1.5TSI "Evo" 150ps Polo).
Only list 15/16" options on anything but the GTI (was a R-line in the main dealer showroom the other day when I popped my car in for a service - just looked plain stupid on such small standard wheels).

Does lowering void warranty? Even if you're only lowering to the same ride height as the GTI.

I think it will be ok if you use original VW parts. Might be diferent in UK

In the UK, you’re likely to void the warranty on any parts or components of the car that fail as a result of lowering the ride height, so parts / components associated with the car’s ride and handling. VWUK’s new car warranty terms and conditions state that components or equipment which were not part of the vehicle at the point of original manufacture are excluded under the warranty. The warranty should still apply to the rest of the car though - e.g. if the infotainment unit fails and an owner had lowered their car, then repairing / replacing the infotainment unit should still be covered under the warranty.

However, the terms and conditions of the new car factory warranty also state that all Volkswagen original replacement parts carry a parts warranty for a period of 2 years/unlimited mileage from the date of purchase. I think the issue with lowering a car is - what do VW consider to be ‘original replacement parts’? If these have to be identical to those fitted in the factory, then lowering a car using different parts (albeit original VW parts) could mean the two year parts warranty may not apply. if the parts just have to be VW parts, then the 2 year warranty ought to apply. IMO, it should be the latter if the parts are VW parts.

T’s and C’s of VWUK’s new car warranty are at the link below;
