Polo Boot dimesnions

Post by RPC »

Hello, I'm thinking of getting a Polo but need to know dimensions of interior luggage space between rear wheel wells - the second of the attached images indicates that it's 970mm; the first suggests that its something less than that. Please can anyone advise? thanks in advance!

You’ve posted in the section for the all new model Polo, and deliveries of this model to the UK don’t start until January next year.

Assume you’re interested in the outgoing model - the 6R/6C that was built from 2009 - 2017 and not the all new 2018 model? If yes, I can measure for you tomorrow.

The width of the luggage/boot compartment between the two rear wheel arches is 970 mm; measured with the boot floor in the upper position - I have a GTI, which doesn’t have a lower position due to the battery being located under in the spare wheel.

Be aware that either side of the luggage/boot compartment just behind the rear seat backs are the front supports for the variable height boot floor and these protrude into the luggage/boot compartment but only at floor level - the supports can be seen in the video at the link below. The width between these is approx 920 mm - only really an issue if you are carrying large items between 920-970 mm in width that require the rear seats to be lowered to get them in the car; they would need to be lifted slightly to get past these two supports, rather than sliding large items on the floor past them (hope that makes sense).
