The vibration is weird though, more like a slight buzzing than a full on wheel balance vibration, could be related so will soon see.
I'd be more worried about abrasion to the lacquer on your wheels than the tyres themselves - causing whuerotm corrosion on the wheels in the long term.

It needs a new liner, they proper messed it up at the factory apparently, tyre is fine not even taken off the little rubber sticky out bits, and it wasn't touching the wheel. They have sorted it so it's not touching anymore until it gets the new one next week, I think but not sure (cos I couldn't get over 55 for much driving home) that the buzzing has gone as well.

Really fast turnaround in Emden for me. I got my 5b notification yesterday morning and my dealer has told me this afternoon that it’s already shipped. Should get 5c tomorrow morning then. Let’s hope it keeps moving quickly.

Mine was in Grimsby for 9 days until it turned up at the dealers this Tuesday just gone, I could have had the car on Thursday but waited until yesterday as I managed to book the day off.

If I can get it in a couple of weeks time I'll be happy, I know it's close now so that makes it easier even if I don't. The long wait from PE to Emden was the worst bit. Knowing it's built but not knowing where it is. I thought it would end up like yours Griff and sat in PE for nearly a month but fortunately not. Yours looks great btw, I'm really glad I too went for blue.

Fingers crossed it gets in a transporter quick! I am so glad I went with Reef blue, it looks much better in the flesh than pictures and in the (very brief) sunshine yesterday it really popped!

Oh I see you are also in Manchester, hopefully we see each other out and about in our GTi's! :D

I’ve seen a blue non GTI in the flesh and that looked nice. It looks nice in the pictures too so can’t wait to see if for real.

I was hoping I’d have the car for summer but I think we had summer earlier in the year. Hopefully it will come good again for us and maybe we’ll see each other about. I’ve only seen 2 GTIs on the road and one in the dealer so it would be good to see some more. They were black/white too.

Latest update from the dealer:
Just to update you with where we are currently at with your New GTI+

There was an issue with a failed consignment order that needed to be removed. We were unaware of this and were only just informed.

Fortunately this has now been removed and the transport order has been raised.

They have given us a latest delivery date of the 26th of June. We have however had a Priority put on this and we could be looking at a sooner collection date.

If we confirm now for collection from you to the 26th and we will give you the option to collect sooner if it comes through any sooner.
After a chat on the phone, the dealer is placing the blame with VW and a so-called glitch with their systems that have caused the delay in getting the car from the dock to the dealer.

So looks like I'm in for up to another 10 days wait despite the car being in the UK for 11 days already...

Failed consignment order means that it was sitting there waiting because it wasn't assigned to the next transporter delivering to your dealership group. Happened with my Golf R, and I only found out much later that my "brand new" car had one of its wheels refurbed before I even got it.

Got to wonder whether mine was down to knowing that they needed to refurb my wheel before I found out about it.

Make sure you give your car a thorough going over around the bodywork for smart repairs etc.

Aye don't worry I will be checking over with a fine tooth comb when it arrives. Good thing about waiting 9 months is 9 months of reading forum posts of issues the Polo has suffered and now I know what to look out for.

I hope the failed consignment is not for damage and that the dealer isn't lying to me. They did try and explain what it meant to me over the phone badly, but from what I understood it was more and issue with VW failing to release the cars for sale to the UK and that it had affected a lot of the dealers cars waiting at the dock too, not just mine.

Just so close now this last bit is killing me.

Not long now, here's hoping for a quick turnaround at the docks for you! Which dealers are you getting it from? VW Manchester were fast at getting mine ready for me once they had it.

I hope so too. I know it can take a little while though so I’m trying not to get too excited just yet. That’s easier said than done though. Mine is going to VW Altrincham and they will also have to apply the Guard X so not sure whether that could slow it down or not. Still, shouldn’t be too long now and my wait is nothing compared to others on here.
