Pre April Polo Price List

Post by TurboTrev »

Does anyone have a Polo price list issued between January and March of this year? If so, does the list of "Standard Equipment" under the GTI or GTI+ mention "Sports Select Suspension". Thanks.

Should all of us who ordered the GTI plus at the beginning of the year, expecting certain kit and lots of it, be concerned VW will not give us all we had expected?!

Sports select is an extra cost option on German Polo GTI’s, and on the German configurator, details of the option are given as (translated by Google);

"Sport Select" chassis including driving profile selection
Sports suspension, body lowered by approx. 15 mm

As it states ‘sport select’ chassis including driving profile selection, the word ‘including’ does imply there’s something else in addition to the driving profile selection and lowered suspension - two mode switchable suspension perhaps, that’s equivalent to the ‘Normal’ and ‘Sport’ suspension settings you got if you specified the optional Sports Performance Pack on the previous generation Polo GTI?

I suspect only VW can clarify what UK GTI’s / GTI+’s will be getting as far as sport select suspension is concerned, so suggest you get your dealer to get a definitive answer from VW on whether or not GTI’s/GTI+’s will be fitted with the sport select switchable suspension as standard for the UK market, or if this has been dropped.

Bear in mind that it’s not unknown for there to be errors, omissions and inaccuracies in the information in VW’s brochures and on their website. Also, be aware that VW cover themselves as far as spec changes are concerned by including this statement on their brochures;

‘The prices and specifications contained in this price list are for information purposes only as our products are continually updated and changes may be made to the prices and specifications at any time. If you require any specific feature, please consult your authorised Volkswagen retailer who is regularly updated with any change in specification. Prices and specifications are subject to change without notice’.

This from the brochure I downloaded in Feb 18 (under the GTI section),but print date is Aug 2017. Current brochure is missing this (as has been said above...)

"...Extended Electronic Differential Lock (XDL) allows you to take corners with confidence, while the addition of Sport Select suspension as standard helps stiffens the vehicle’s suspension
(via electronically adjustable dampers) and alters the steering weight, accelerator response and sound actuator to produce a driving experience nothing short of enthralling....."
