Brilliant... I’m sure the wait will be worth it. Hopefully build up a small stash of subtle bits to go on when it arrives.joeknight94 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 23, 2018 11:24 am The up to date lead time from VW head office was 44 weeks for GTI +

Certainly doesn't induce any kind of excitement for me.

Mine is on the Green Ridge currently sailing to Southampton, ETA 7.7.18. Will it offload cars there or does have to go via Emden?

Re: GTI+ order date vs build week confirmation
Interesting question.
I thought all cars had to go to Emden first for inspection and then shipped on but transporters seem to be heading for uk ports direct. Maybe they only have uk cars left on board?
Does anyone know what they do at Emden, do they actually perform any checks?

Still.. In.. Sheerness..
Re: GTI+ order date vs build week confirmation
can take up to 10 days to get to the dealer, then a week to collect after that. so 1st july in sheerness would be about the 17th for collection. mine was about 17 days from sheerness to collection.

I just received a teaser video from the Dealer showing my car with him signing off by saying he’ll be contacting me to arrange a collection later this week.

Re: GTI+ order date vs build week confirmation
Have been to see my dealer today regarding our build week 23 Polo GTI plus. I know the Grand Orion is the ship it is on now heading for Vigo early 13 th July. Next stop is Zeebrugge on the 16 th and Emden on the 17 th. The ship goes on to Bremerhaven, Killinghome , Sheerness and then heads South. Our car will be taken off at Emden and the dealer reckons should be ready for pick up at the garage around the 8 th August allowing for checks at Emden, shipping to Grimsby or Newcastle( he reckons) and pdi at the garage. PDI takes about three days but could be done quicker if the car arrives early in the day. He said there will not be the normal pile of pdis to do before Sept 1st as not many cars will be coming through until after that date.
I asked him what happens if they miss the 15 th August deadline and he said that would not happen as VW will prioritise cars which need to be in the UK by the 15 th. We will see!
The guy I normally talk to is on leave until late next week so I could not clarify the discount scenario, but the man I spoke to said my salesman was very good at sorting stuff, so hopefully more news on the discount front a week next Sunday. Again we will see.
Back to the football to distract me . Fingers crossed.

This time next year, these types of posts will be irrelevant, as most of the posters will have their Polo on their drive
