Directional lights - LED bulbs

Post by claudiohi »

Hi guys!
I want to replace the original halogen bulbs but some sellers told me it´s not possible, even if I use canceller.
Is it possible to replace these bulbs using LEDs?
Philips´ Ultinon or even Osram ones would work without error?

thank you.

Are they the same as the foglights?
H8 bulbs?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe they are H7 bulbs

The directional lights down in the spoiler?
The ones that come on when you corner? (and maybe double as foglights)
I'd be surprised if they were H7.

Ah, the INDICATOR bulbs!
We're all giving you wrong information then.

Bought a couple of IJDM LED bulbs with hyper flash free option, these bulbs are more powerful than regular ones and they need no resistors to avoid error messages. As soon as they arrive, I will test them and I'll give the proper feedback. Thank you.

I want to do this too.
The question is how do you get to where the bulb is , how do you remove the light unit.
Also as the rest of the rear lights on the Gti are leds why did they not fit led indicators to match the front

I would do this if I didn't have to burst the boot carpet lining - there's a perforated flap to burst to get access. Maybe when a blown bulb forces my hand I'll do it.

Probably deliberately left as a halogen to make it a big facelift feature in 4 years time.
