How to find state of charge of battery?

Post by Jericho704 »

I was wondering if anyone knows the shortcut to find the state of charge (in %) of the cars battery?

I know by holding the 0.0 button, will show the SoC in the golf mk7, in the MFD, but that doesn't work for me in the mk6 polo.

All help is appreciated

Possible a request too far on small cars at this point in time, handy to have though, I think that I have a battery meter in my own car, but never used it as that car gets its battery maintained using a CTEK unit when left in the garage.

The vw connect app provides the info as long as you have the single thing provided by the garage

A very good point - I think that I put the one for my wife's Polo in a very safe place!

Edit:- the OP was looking for a SoC reading, that is just a current/present voltage reading from a battery being charged by the alternator.

Bear in mind that the battery voltage alone isn't necessarily a full indicator of the state of charge of the battery or of its health generally, it's whether the battery can maintain the requisite voltage level when further current from it is demanded that counts.

My dad has this on his previous generation polo SE. Doesn't seem to be on the AW unfortunately.
Would be especially handy in these times of lockdown!
