Nice, would love to see how you go with your next mods. Do wavetrac do a LSD for this car? cannot seem to find much about them in terms of capability as I was looking only last week about aftermarket LSD installs.

Regarding putting in a bigger turbo will you be doing any supporting cooling mods?
Thanks!

Yes Wavetrac makes lsd for DQ250 gearbox which is in Polo as well as in pre facelift Golf GTI so no problem :) I should have it next week.

I probably will have to put new intercooler, saw one company putting Golf R intercooler as a budget mod, there is however Wagner coming out but as always price is a killer, around €700...

Peter, full exhaust - so you got rid of the GPF finally? How is the sound?

Sweet! keep us posted on your progress! I'm going to add the wavetrac to my future mods list. Question: Does the polos fake LSD system (breaking inside wheel) affect the effectiveness of a real LSD? Do they work hand in hand or do you have to disable the manufacture's system?

Can you confirm the correct part number? After some searching, I deduced that the correct part number is 10-309-187WK (Wavetrac Differential, VW Audi DSG 2WD [25T RING] MK6 MK7 GTI A3/TT 2.0T). On another note, I came across the Quaife ATB version and it is £400 cheaper than the Wavetrac. Is there that much of a difference between the two to warrant the £400 price difference?

Regarding Wavetrac it is being fitted at the moment. It should not interfere with XDS electronics. As I heard Wavetrac is better than Quaife with both quality of the product, and how it works. It is the only ATB that will put power even when one wheel is in the air. I will post my feeling when its in the car.

Good luck with the install, cannot wait to hear your thoughts on how it drives after the install.

Regarding the XDS system, reading this article it would seem like turning off the XDS system would be better: https://wavetrac.eu/blog/2018/06/04/mk7 ... autosport/

But how? A bit of googling about how to activate it on VW cars that don't normally have it activated might give an indication to turn it off. Looks like Long Coding on the ABS module if bit 1&2 is unset on byte23 it should turn the system off. Could be talking out of my arse here though.

XDS was a £280 option on my 2009 and 2011 Sciroccos - activated it on VCDS for nowt. Hopefully undone on a Polo GTI+ in a similar way.

Guys I don’t do guides I just like to modify my car and when I’m fitting a new mod I’m more concerned with getting it all in and getting the car back together again!!!!

I know that’s not what you wanted to hear but with every modification that you do there’s always the risk of it not working out but it’s always at your own risk.....depends on how desperate you are to have what you want.

Also some mods cost hundreds of pounds and not £20 like most people want (come on wake up)

Well I don't expect it to be £20. :D Might I ask if you have part list you used and maybe share that one? :)
