I've disconnected that useless (IMO) dataplug.
Should there be a blanking plate for the purple OBD port that is now uncovered?
Had to laugh that when I opened the glove compartment for the second ever time, to put the dataplug in there, I noticed a CD player.

Re: Disconnecting dataplug
I’ve never owned any VW or Audi cars that have had a cover over the OBD2 port - though SEAT tend to hide it behind a trim panel!
CD player hiding in the glove box is, well out of sight, but as my wife fills the glove box of her 6R Polo and would like to use that player, that annoys her! Data plug for that car lives in a drawer in the house.

Re: Disconnecting dataplug
I was surprised it had a CD player at all.
How quaint!
Cheers for confirming uncovered OBD is fine.
