How to remove sticky residue on new car?

Just Got my new Polo and the valeting was pretty p*** poor! Got them to re-do it but there are still areas with the residue from the covering!

What's the best way to remove it?

Autosmart Tardis. You can get it on eBay Stick it in a sprayer and then spray the residue on a cloth and wipe off gently.

Literally just collected ours and it's exactly the same round the door handles and C pillars..

My brother is a detailer (will be giving my car a freebie!) and I think one of the products he uses is Autosmart Tardis (tar and glue remover). Might be trade only but there are plenty of other T&G removers available.

If your car has been prepared as bad as I know they can be, then I'd probably try and find a local detailer to give it a full decontamination and wax. Or even a full correction if they really butchered it..

Tardis isn't trade only, I've got.
But I don't think anyone has mentioned diluting it.
You've got to dilute it, it's powerful stuff!

You're not supposed to dilute Tardis. It's best used neat.

Even if you did dilute it, Tardis is oil based so would separate from the water and sit on top.

Prior to buying it, every detailing website I saw said to dilute it.
It smells to high heaven, I'd worry about using it neat in case it melted plastics!

On the Polo it doesn't matter, but the wife's car (Sportage) has plastic trim on the sills and arches.
Naturally, tar congregates most just above these trims.
Is it OK to use tardis near these trims?
